I think, the airports are due to open tonight at 10pm.
* Yep, the first plane flew over, no more clean(er) air! :-P
Yes, it was a a sensible precaution
No, it was a knee-jerk over-reaction

I'm pretty grateful tbh. I had to drive 750 miles to get to work on Monday. No joke. And would have had to do the same in reverse next Monday in order to get home. Still, I'm glad there will be a good few days of other people testing this flying in ash-cloud malarky before I have to get on a plane
ha, yea @ few tests flights.
damn @ 750 miles, yes I'd be fuming! I have a couple of friends booked to go to Mexico on Thursday, they were expecting the worse, but I'm happy for them now (their 2nd honey moon).
It's just been on the news, they've opened up a lot more of the airspace - nothing changed, but they've rewritten the rules after pressure from the airlines..

The Government made the right decisions.

There was me thinking it was up to NATS, rather than the government?

When it comes to taking the blame for the problems, it'll be NATs that gets it, and nothing to do with government, because it's "international regulations", you know. Safety first and paramount, etc.
When it comes to claiming the credit for "solving" it, it'll be ministers grabbing it, because of their "decisive action".
That's politics.
So how many planes to fall out the sky before things get interesting?

Indeed. It'd be far fairer if politicians would be open and frank with us, and treat us with some respect beyond a month of grovelling before ballot day. We might be more inclined to give credit when they get things right if they didn't always pretend they never got things wrong.
And so far, this election campaign has been a masterful exercise in patronising drivel from all of them .... including Wonderboy.
