You would be mortified by the amount of people I've heard who have said they did/will vote SNP because they don't like the English. Those people make me embarrassed to be Scottish.

I'm not eligible to vote, which is probably a good thing as I have no idea who to vote for. There are policies from all parties I agree on, and policies I disagree in. Really have no idea who I want in.

Re: General Election 2010: who did you vote for?

My father in law is banging on about SNP (a true Scot!) been telling my wife the usual bumf/made up tabloid stories to get her not to vote for anyone else.
She decided on Lib Deb after finding out the truth about some crap she'd been old about them, then her mates told her some more so, in a bit of a rush-job she voted SNP anyway. She's telling her dad she voted Lib Dem though just to annoy him!

Re: General Election 2010: who did you vote for?

I would really like single transferable vote, that way people could vote for who they wanted in the order of presidence, no need for this "tactical" stuff. This assumption that all liberal would prefer labour rather, than conservative is just wrong. One commentator on the BBC put it well, "We have 3 main parties in the UK and two thirds dislike the other third's party. ". I think labour/conservative opinion is it will help the liberals more in marginals where there are in second place. However I feel its better to have repsentatives prefered by more than 50% of the people!

I voted Tory against my better judgement - I just didn't want Labour to keep the seat so I voted tactically.

Re: General Election 2010: who did you vote for?

All parties should shove their policies into one big book, the public then vote on which policy they want from a similar group eg Economy, immigration etc
We then elect some people somehow, the new government then has to action the policies we voted for.

I just disagree with so many policies from all parties, had to vote with the one I disagreed with the least!

Re: General Election 2010: who did you vote for?

I voted conservative as i dont trust Labour to run the country anymore with the leadership they currently have and the Lib dems are very much pro-Europe and will ditch the pound whenever they can get away with it, this i do not agree with.

Morally, yes, but in my ward the LD's are a very distant third and I'd rather have Tories as a second choice rather than Labour.

Ahhh I see. I just thought that even where Labour were second they are 'losing' votes to the LibDems.
