I broke my hand punching a chair (don't ask) and it didn't even show up on the xray the first time, then I got called back and got a cast for 2 weeks -_-

Thanks, I could only stay away from Hexus for so long
Go to A&E and literally throw a hissy fit. Now if you are too manly to do so, then take someone else (women tend to be the best at this so a wife/girlfriend would be good) and get them to throw a hissy fit about you. It will work.
Sorry I have to ask.... why would you punch a chair?
Uhh... I'm not proud of it but this was when I was a proper gaming addict a couple of years ago and my mum said I couldn;t go on the computer after earlier saying that I could - I wasn't very happy and kind of half heartedly hit a chair... But managed to fracture bone...
Sport is amazing for causing injuries doing small things, i was in net once someone shot... didnt have gloves on with wrist support, wrist went back... i wripped a massive chunk of mussle in forearm... went black and blue took 4 weeks to heal... so yer... go a and e lol.
No choice really, it's the university designated one. They did look at it yeah, but I think the priority was to get me out of there asap. I had the temerity to ask for an emergency appointment, so I guess it's my own fault.
I broke someone's wrist in exactly the same manner, hard shot from 20 yards or so
He hasn't really played since, but then he was 58 so it's not too horrendous.
Watch out for them Tramadol, there very good painkillers but highly addictive.
Yeah tell me bout the addiction !!!!
I take 1x 50mg morning and evening, and woe betide me if I miss just one ! Sweats, shakes n shivers....
BUT I am actually 50% pain reduced for much of the time now... so I'll keep taking them.
Better than Di-Hydrocodeine anyway !!!!!
Its definately worth going to A&E and being insistent that they take a proper look at your wrist, preferably at a time when its not going to be busy i.e. Friday night to Sunday afternoon. They can be a bit dissmissive of people with potentially minor sporting injuries as I found out from playing rugby. Three hours waiting for someone to look at my broken nose and then the laughable situation of a nurse arguing with me about deciding to leave because it was "important" that I got my airway checked.
The only time I got quick service was when I went in for a deep cut on my right arm from some stamping on me. I wasn't that bothered as it didn't hurt and wasn't bleeding much, just wanted it sewing up. But when the triage nurse went a bit pale after seeing the muscle in my arm moving through the 1inch "round" hole in my arm I was rushed in to see the doctor. Funny thing was I went through all that, plus the doctor poking around telling me what he could see... and then I passed out when a nurse came in to give me a shot with the biggest needle I'd ever seen
If Wisdom is the coordination of "knowledge and experience" and its deliberate use to improve well being then how come "Ignorance is bliss"
Maybe next time you should start drinking lots of milk
Me too...i thought it was going to be a 'thrap' gag.Right now I've stopped sniggering at the thread title...
All joking aside, i was stab in the course of 'work' 6 years ago.
The knife entered just to the side my right shoulder blade. When i arrived at A&E, under my own steam i might add, i waited nearly 45 mins just for the triage nurse to see me. I then waited a further 2.5 hours for treatment.
I was told, as i wasn't bleeding heavily i was OK (which i was), but it hurt like frigg, and my shoulder blade could've been damaged or even a punctured lung.
AND MY WIFE IS AN A&E NURSE AT THE SAME HOSPITAL!!!!
