Use two pillows. One under your ass one under your back (also levels you).
I have a slightly twisted spine so I need support.
Also when you get good at press ups, try doing them on your knuckles. When you can do 50 on your knuckles you can class yourself as a modern Rocky Balboa
Congrats on the weight loss, it's more than impressive, two questions tho:
    1) How'd you get that much weight on?
    2) What motivated you enough to make the change, and kept you going through it?

Hard to say how the weight came on, I was always a big lad from like the age of 10. I slimmed at about 14 and then I crept up as I was kicked out of school, the weight piled on from age 17 – 21 my college years, eating pure junk food! And plenty of it, also had a drink problem two.

I started changing my life as I thought I would be a nice looking lad if I lost some weight and I that would get me a nice lady! Now things are not that simple but that was how I started, during the weight loss I became a Christian and my life changed dramatically I kept the diet up and that was that, I guess motivation over the last 12 months have been my girlfriend for one and the excitement of being a so called normal weight and wearing things like T – Shirts or going topless at the beech! Stuff like that really! I tell you one thing I have tree truck mussel legs from the carrying the weight! Just need to sort the top half!!

    Thanks Buddy

Women are always good motivation, just be careful that if it goes wrong you don't slip into old habits, or worse get into bad depression cause weight can come back so much faster than you lost it! Good to see another Proud Christian on Hexus Nice one What weight you on now then? I had a problem the other way round, I've always kept my weight to 11 stone ish if I can, but I got severe acute tonsillitus in Stoke, meaning I couldn't eat for 3 weeks, got over it and suffered a relapse!
I dropped to 9 stone :S Crazy, but I've had the pleasure of having to put weight on, and I'm up to 11.5 now, meaning a bit of toning here and there will do nicely
Also as you get bigger built bear in mind that muscle weighs 3 times more than fat, so don't worry if your weight rises!

and so you should - it goes to show that a bit of determination can go a long way. I'd suggest to cap on your success you do one of them easy 10k fun runs - it'll make you feel a million dollars mate, trust me. As for toning up, try going to a easy circuit training session once a week if you find going to the gym boring. Remember it takes 6 weeks for a habbit to form and you'll probably hate it at first, although love it later (cos it makes you feel great) - but hey lifes all about doing things we dont want to do anit it, otherwise you'd be lazy. I go with the missus too

average is 9%(!) to 15% so yeah, thats about right, assuming you're excercising and all that.
mine is about 10-11 but because I train quite a bit and I'm a small guy anyway it just never stays on.
how are you calculating your body fat? there are so many ways of ding it its almost always going to be incomparable to the next person's. best - rather - Standard way is skin folds measuring, where calipers pinch skin at 4 different sites [taking an average at each site in cm of skin fold] and then you add them up and check on a table to give you a percentage. I forget who it's named after but its the most widely used test, and apart from anything else its so much easier and cheaper too than some of thse crazy electronic ones...

You wont get a six pack no matter how many crunches you do if you have fat on your stomach...

Most males need below 9% bodyfat to have visible abs.

Sixpack is made in the kitchen not at the gym!

Hate to disagree, but doing the actual exercises invariably leads to weight loss, so doing crunches overtime will give him a 6 pack, and even if it doesn't he'd only have to drop a few pounds as the abs would be developed. The important thing is to do the correct exercises to develop all your abs rather than 2.

No worries! Keep up the good work, I'd also recommend making work fun, by taking up a hobby that involves fitness (Boxing in my case, but who knows: Tennis, football, badminton!) Keep it fun and less work like and you won't believe how fast it'll all go!

The fun sport i play is squash, it's really fast and it stretches all the muscles in your body.

For the running, from when i lost my weight to the amount i run now i just used the crosstrainer inbetween and built my stamina up by going longer each week. I'd end up doing 1 hour and 10 minutes on the cross trainer burning 1200 calories. I don't use the cross-trainer at all now 'cause i just go on the treadmill. I can do up to 1 hour 10 minutes and burn about 700 calories although i usually do 45 minutes each time.
