Always used to have it permed all the time, my hair looked like Julia Robert's hair did in Pretty Woman,

I'm just afraid that the perm wouldn't last long because my hair's so long and thick

mine reaches the small of my back, and is constantly in a pony tail.

Messy, unnatractive & inpractical. Just how I like it!

I have an afro right now (hence my name) just over three inches long now, going to get it cane rowed on Sunday (I hope), wait three or so weeks take them out and two inches of hair will have appeared from nowhere

At this point who knows what I'll do with it, might straighten it and dye it a lil' or more likely a perm

    I love my hair

Well, here are some pics of my hair as requested

Old one this, just over a year old now...

This picture was taken a few weeks ago and contray to its appearence, my hair now is a good inch and a half longer than that previous picture (NOTE: Since that previous afro, I had a haircut, so this is a new afro), for some reason my hair insists on compressing itself by default, and its horrifically well looked after...

This was taken about ten minutes before the picture with the proper afro, I had just unravelled the cane rows I had just had (quite PAINstakingly)...its also an indication as to how I might look with a perm...

I should have put this image first, but its much too late do so now, but this was me with cane rows a day before I unravelled them...

I'm sure your DSLR has a self timer on it

why do people insist on taking photos in the mirror? just out of interest?

elmo its far easier for a quick picture than messing around getting the framing right on a self timer It was hardly a professional picture of myself, merely showing a new haircut.

if you take a picture in a mirror then you can easily see how it is going to look. saves taking heaps of shots, all of which you look like a tit

easier with a web cam though

    Try it out

The idea is that the further the camera is from a person, the photo will come out more like the way people see people IRL.

The problem with cameras is that it only has one lens and one sensor, so its like looking at everything with one eye closed.

Looking at someone from a short distance (half arm's length) with one eye closed isn't flattering and photos usually come out crap. a mirror is an easy way to get distance between you and the camera which loses that wide-angle, close-up ugly effect.

Dood you love yourself new look don't you. How many forums is this you've posted your look on so far. I thought I noticed the noggin elsewhere. 100% improvement over original bus pass pic.

It's amazing what a haircut can achieve.
