Just as a side note, I've worked since I was 16, during A-Levels I was at Iceland, then over the first summer holiday I worked at the Iceland HQ, then for the last summer holidays I was on a IT placement with STEP, so I've got expirence and know what 9-5 work is like.

Reading over these comments I've come up with an alternative to what I was hoping to do.

Finish my degree then work in IT for a year (Currently doing a BSc in Information Systems Engineering at Manc). If I really enjoy IT work then I'll go travelling for a few months (got a mate lined up for this already) then carry on doing the IT job. If I don't enjoy the year as an IT guy I'll go travelling then do a master in business (I've always had an interest in this as well as computing).

    Does that sound reasonable?

I miss uni too. The people, the societies, the facilities...
I've hardly done any exercise since getting a job!

It was really tough to find a job after uni, most jobs that I had relevant skills for required more experience than I had (and that's with a year in industry too!).

just spend some time evaluating what MSc could contribute to your life goals...

if it's good for you, you like it, then just do it. if not, why not choose to do something else (whatever)... Of course it's quite difficult to do so, listening and sharing other people's (like these nice folks here) experience may help...

I am also in my last year of Uni (Maths -.-)... but i am pretty clear of my goals. planning to pursue MPhil+PhD in Maths... coz i am thinking of teaching maths for a living...a quiet life..blah blah.........hehe..

I thought you needed a higher degree? Masters would do to teach in a uni.

Probably depends on the uni, at mine they were nearly all doctors and profs and
those that were not were in industry for a long time. There were no masters students
who became lecturers, they just wouldnt have the knowledge necessary.

Saying that my birds friend did do lectures at westminster i think as a first year phd student. The dept is utter bum though and like getting a degree from a polytechnic.
