More goddam games. Took advantage of the Humble Bundle deal to buy back catalogue of GTA. I think very cold/snowy weather is perfect gaming weather.

I wanted a basic mouse and keyboard, so I popped into maplin, as they are on closing down sale, it's a sad sight half the shelves are picked clean, they did have a couple of pc cases for reasonable price, but most stuff is still over priced even at 20% off
Did also pick up a nice pair of mini wire cutters for £5.59

Nope, even cheaper, Amtech. I have a reasonably study vice, but it's in storage and buying a cheapy for £7 was less hassle than finding it.

and you know what? the chip worked straight out the box, no BIOS update needed atall, and it was still on the F1 first release.

mate had to go back to scan again on the Tuesday because the ram was faulty, swapped over the counter after a quick test. much quicker than posting and waiting for RMA stickers and the postie to collect/deliver things.
Took me a couple weeks, 5 rebuilds and 4 BIOS revision updates before my 2400G decided that life is an OK concept. I'm still trying to update the Windows installation on it and test if the desktop freezing is gone.

Oh, and I went over the 30 days that AMD give for using the boot kit and now they're disappointed in me. I missed the deadline by about 3 business days...

    would love some spaghetti.

Phanteks Enthoo Luxe, the one without the tempered glass panel.
Cost me a trip to Oxford and the fitting of a door latch, plus the planing and hanging of said door.

Sabertooth motherboard - X79, or X99 or something. Comes with a 4930K, I believe, and some RAM which I might throw away in favour of my Crucial Ballistix tactical tracers, even though it's half the GB.
Cost me a lot of waiting around while the owner of the above-mentioned door faffed around.

Well yes, I am, but not with these parts... These are mine. Yours are over there.... No, in the corner next to the stack of magnets, under the broken MFI cabinets.

Re: What did you just buy?

I lied - It's an i7-5820K j-batch, on an Asus X99-PRO board, with 16GB of Corsair DDR4 somethingorother, slapped into a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe.... !!

Running some quick bechmarks, it seems to score around double what my last rig achieved!!

    PS4 Pro and when I move, a T.V

I am moving back with the parents in order to save.

I don't really want to as ill be losing a lot of my own space but it will allow me to save a large amount of cash, quickly to buy a house. As such I am making what little space I will have "mine" a proper "lads pad".
