@Spud .... yeah, we are more or less broadly, in agreement.
My preferences are
1) Keep Corbyn out.
2) End Brexit ..... dithering. Even Remaining would be better than xeveral more years of Brexit Gridlock.
Personally, though, I didn't have much say in it. Four csndidates, an independent who will get annihiliated, and an LD that won't be far behind. That left Lab or Con and no way would I consider voting Labour if it risked Corbyn, or his pojnt if view, in power.
Neither BoJo nor his deal would be my first preference but, assuming the exit poll is broadly right (and while it may not be, the last few have been decent and it has to be *mahooosively* wrong to change the wi ning party. Even McDonnell was pretty glum and not trying to pretend it isn't a disaster. Instead, the blame game has started.
Having seen that exit poll, my impression is that while the majority may be wrong (up or down) the result won't be.
And as I write this, Blyth Valley has just come in as a Tory gain.
Tory? Blyth Valley? Forum swearing rules prevent me from repeating what I said when I saw it, but it was along the lines of <rude word> me!!!!!!!!

Given that most influential 'Londoners' come out here in order to be educated, you're either trolling or an idiot.
As a former Londoner myself, I've seen both sides... and you're so far up your own Tube tunnel, you don't realise the light at the end is the 8:05 to Paddington.
And that's why you Londoners should not be standing for office in the first place. If you really are ^that far out of touch with the people, you have no business representing anyone in Parliament.
I think you'll find people on this forum have a far better understanding than you, I, or indeed most people out there.
Again, what you see is people who have lived through this before and know from those past experiences that what Labour are touting won't work... and more importantly, they know why it didn't work then and why it certainly won't work now.
I'm not happy that the Tory Trump has won, but I'd rather have him wreck the country and someone else fix it, than Corbyn instigate a culture that facilitates the public wrecking their own country and it being nigh-on irredeemable!!

Merry christmas from the kremlin it seems....

But they're London-based Russian oligarchs, which mean they are obviously far more intelligent and cultured than other Russian oligarchs, and must be Labour supporters as a result.

Well now the election is done, this report needs to come out, as does the one into Tory islamaphobia, given how much press was given to the Labour antisemitism report, only fair..

Well, generally. I think it's seen that the Islamaphobia in the conservative party, isn't institutionalised. But is rather by a small number of individuals.
Labour however, seem to have a significantly larger problem going right through the party. Labour have had more high profile ministers and MPs resign over anti semitism than the conservatives have over islamaphobia. (and mostly choosing to resign specifically over Corbyns 'handling' of the issue)
And it seems to be a significant problem right from the grass roots of the party.
What's worse (for labour) is that the issue with anti semitism, wasn't really a problem under Blair, Brown and Milliband. (or certainly, no where near the same level) This all looks to show that it became a problem when the party lurched left and went with Corbyn. This instantly ties Corbyn together with the Anti semitism problem. And his poor and at the start often non existant ways of dealing with the problem have meant the problem has become larger and more persistant than it needed to have. Corbyn can take the blame here, although the press may well have been looking for issues here harder than elsewhere. That's largly as Corbyn wasn't tough on the issue right from the start and it's persisted for years.
And, i don't believe for a minute. That had islamaphobia been a significantly larger problem in the conservative party, the papers wouldn't have reported it. They would have. And taken great delight in making May or Johnson squirm as much as they could.
But, even at it's most basic form. When both main partys are being accused of racism. Then to the vast majority of voters. It's going to cancel each other out. And the votes will be won and lost on other issues.
As was this time, Labours change in policy from 2017 on leaving the EU seems to have lost them thier traditional seats.
