When you've just got out the bath and its freezing then you put on a t-shirt that's been on the radiator... Hmmmmmm

Making a sandwich with a freshly opened loaf... Hmmmmmmmm

Sitting by a window when its cloudy and then the clouds break all of a sudden, releasing a warm Sun beam ... Lovely!

Getting into your own bed after being away and having a big stretch, thinking its good to be back

Getting into bed when it's damn cold outside and in the bedroom and just slowly warming up

And waking up just enough in the morning to realise you don't have to be up at 8:00 before dozing off again

really heavy rain.. when I'm inside, or waterproofed up, navigating somewhere I haven't been ever, and not getting lost and the smell of 2-stroke oil mixed with fresh cut grass and the faint distant buzz of lawnmowers...

Storms. Sitting on or near my window sill with the window open, lights off in my room, no sound but the rain hammering down outside. Then the odd flash in the distance and the deep rumble of thunder... it's even better when you're upset/broken hearted.

That's "strangely pleasing", most of what's been posted is just normal for probably everyone (beds, warmth, etc). Vaul's was a bit strange, liking the smell of half furnished flats, but then Vaul is strange!

Saw two Chavs get hauled out of a (presumably stolen?) car & get cuffed by the police yesterday afternoon.

Its not just the smell, its the whole thing. Like people who get a buzz walking into a casino, from the click of the dice and the feel of the place.

I get the same, at the moment, from the smell of the paint, the slap of the wallpaper, the sound of yet another delivery driver pulling up to delivery random item #46. Unwrapping random item number #46, deciding where to put random item number #46, etc.

Random item number #47 is due today! The fun never ends!

Also, job satisfaction. A door, or a celling, or a skirting board that is now glowing white, is a good thing, if you've just painted it.

Anyway, its my first place of my own, so I'm going to enjoy it, even if it is a tiny, one bedroomed flat.

Smell of new carpet or freshly printed books/magazines

    Fresh rain

    Smell and feel of forests

And I have to say it - the relief of taking a massive dump after curry and beer from the night before...

My petrol lawnmower. Heaven knows why, but it makes me smile like a lottery winner.

Laying on fresh cut lawn, looking straight up at blue sky.

But best of all is seeing my missus playing Il-2. It'll never ever stop making me smile, seeing her name at the top of a leader board in a dogfight.

Finally finding some services & having a pee after a long motorway journey. Especially if you're busting so much you can't stand up straight.

Walking in rain / after rain... makes everything seem so clean (esp my car)
Freshly washed and tumbled big sweatshirt, cup of tea and some trashy telly. (and a snuggle partner helps too, but he's not always that co-operative)
Being able to wear my sunglasses for the first time that year, without looking silly.
    Storms, I love the things...
Handing in an assignment that has been hanging over your head for ages... (this one will be tuesday)
Coming home in the summer to find the BBQ on
When the cat decides HE wants a cuddle, not when I decide he needs one.

The smell of napalm in the morning

but really, the first sip of an ice cold beer on a Friday afternoon, sat in front of the TV watching Simpsons on C4, after a long hard week at work
If it ain't broke, fetch a bigger hammer
