I also remember when Mag wheels were something special and everyone had to have them. Garbage pail kids.... they were great. Playing war using a stick as a gun, ending in arguments with a kid who would never accept they had been shot. Crab apple and mud bomb fights. Setting fire to another kids action man jeep and pushing it down the hill.
collecting rubbish around the estate to make a bonfire on the playing field on guyfawkes... you cant do that anymore.

I remember playing manhunt in the forest with my mates when I was a kid. We used to set booby traps up to catch the runner... Ahh them were the days...

I used to climb trees loads. I fell out of one once, didn't stop me climbing, just stopped me going too high.

British Bulldog is now banned in most schools.

There's no cards to collect in boxes of PG tips no more.

Catapults & spud guns, cap guns & pop guns... where?

Trick or Treat was some weird American interpretation of Halloween.

Tiz true dude. Told by my eldest's form teacher. Is deemed too violent & dangerous.

And what happened to Infant, Junior & Senior Schools?

You can still get caps i think, they were the bollocks wernt they. Smashing a whole roll with a brick or being dead hard and using your nail to set them off.

Who remembers the coca cola yo yo comps i really enjoyed that. The football one after that was rubbish.

not only was british bulldog banned from our school, but "raid rovers" was too! WHY? because "people's arms could get broken!" - PFFT! wimps!

I feel old from reading all that, but at the same time, i feel quite young cos i'm only 2 years off, yet being born in '84 i still grew up with all that stuff. - weird I'm still 3rd oldest in my uni class, which is really strange, cos all the way through school i was one of the youngest and i didnt miss a year or nuffing!

Trying to get games to load on a ZX80 or 81 with one of those rubbish tape recorders. Endless games of Pac Man on my Uncle's BBC B.

Haha, excellent post. I could add one though. One of my favourite bands was formed in the same year i was born, 1985

It's true though, this generation is all about technology, imagine what the next generation is going to be like
