Aeromech Engineering here - the only advice is get some work experience - anything is better than nothing. There are so many graduates these days that you have to have something to make you stand out from the crowd.

Hoooray, well done everyone... seems to have been a good year.

All of my Mates at uni have all graduated (in Software or Internet Eng) with a 2:1 or above... no one i know got a 2:2 - We obviously had a blinding year! But then we sure as hell worked for it.

My gf got something silly like 85% in her degree at Peking university (China's top uni)... It was in international relations... lets just say I wasn't impressed with the subject lol!

I've never known anyone in Electronic engineering to get above 80% thats for sure.

The first year of a degree is significantly easier than the rest though, but my first year (back in the day) didn't count towards my degree, so wasn't bothered, just messed about alot

Im doing Computer Science. First year isnt necessarily easier than the rest, it really does depend on what you study. Anyway this will be mentioned in my references from lecturers come placement time, so will work in my favour a lot.

I don't know who came top in our year, but the first year of my course was the same as most computing subjects.

Still like the fact that the cocky barstard who said that the course was "Too easy" and he wanted to skip ahead to the next year or change uni failed miserably and is now trying to complain and incite a rebellion against the faculty!

I have no idea what grades I got, I'll let you know in a couple hours.

It was obviously good enough to get to Loughborough (1st choice) though

Enjoy the loughborough women, i went a tour around there, and boy were they nice (not trying to be sexist or anything)

I actually applied to lboro to do aeronautical engineering, loved the place!

I just thought i would re-use this thread to post the results but some noggin has gone and created a new one here : http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.p...2&page=1&pp=15

I could have done better, but it doesn't matter now. I got my place, and can start with a clean slate.
