    Just minding my own business...

...watching glastonbury 2005 on beeb 2.... not particularly paying attention to it, just on in the background. Anyway, i hear this wailing, and suddenly feel the overwhelming urge to slit my wrists!

I take a look at the tv and it's coldplay....

Now forgive me, but am i the only person in the world that think they're utter TOSH? What's so fantastic about their music?? it a) all sounds the same, and b) is so "chilled" you're almost lulled into a coma....

    argh!

    Agreed.

Can't abide them personally, I just feel tired and lethargic when I hear them, but we're probably just wierd

Coldplay and radiohead, I never got it, why do people like listening to boring monotoneous music <Awaits flaming from emo and indie kiddies of the boards> it is music to slit your wrists too, it annoys me, vastly

but people do have different tastes ...............

    but U2 omg heh

You cannot seriously say that they get you down so to speak or even bore you ? They are one of the biggest bands of all time. The biggest of THE time surely ?

Coldplay know that's a different story

But the new album is growing on me each time I listen to it.

Radiohead have made 2 of the finest albums of the past 20 years. They may not be extremely positive, but that's not a detraction.

I'm sort of half way with coldplay. Yes, I think some of it does sound a bit samey, but I've come close to buying an album of theirs a few times.

I heard you got a free packet of razor blades with the latest coldplay album.

Not really fair for me to bash them, as it's not my type of music, tis fun tho

My feelings about coldplay have I'm sure been voiced on here before, I too was unfortunate enough to have nothing better to do at work last night than watch them, everytime I hear that goddamn piano intro a little piece of me dies inside, Chris Martins an egomanical little so and so aswell

U2 however despite the selling out over recent years did make one of the best albums of all time despite it not being my favourite style of music I can appreciate good stuff when I hear it and the Joshua Tree is the greatest thing they ever put out tbh

The deterioration in pop music has been evident for a while now.......

In the sixties we had the beatles, hendrix, the who

In the seventies there were led zepplin, ac/dc, iron maiden, aerosmith

Even the eighties, the decade that taste forgot gave us guns and roses, bon jovi and metallica

The nineties are when the boy bands start to emerge and the only to decent bands I can think of right now starting up then are blur and oasis

Then we move into the new millenium and what have we got? 50 cent telling me how many times he's been shot, three of a kind telling me about someone called babycakes, coldplay making me wish i was deader than jackets with little leather elbow patches.

Its not fair I tell thee!
