50? BBC site reckons its at 38 at the moment, and that's only risen by one in 3 hours. 700 injured though.

So do I, I'm hoping they were not suicide bombers. The idea of them dying believing that what they are doing is right makes me madOriginally Posted by Ferral
Yeah, around an hour ago on the news there was loads of stuff cobbled together from different news reports and it was saying reported as around 50 now.
I believe they are still unsure of how many were on the bus, if it was full would be carrying around 60 - 70 people.
Its really terrible what has happened.
Just seen this on another forum!.

In London, uninjured singer Omarion seeks prayers
NEW YORK (Reuters) - London was the scene of carnage on Thursday after a series of deadly blasts but American R&B crooner Omarion, who suffered no injury or inconvenience, wants people to pray for him.
"Omarion was in London during the tragic bombings that struck this morning," a statement by the singer's publicist AR PR Marketing, released hours after the bombings, said.
Making no mention of the fatalities or casualties of the blasts, the singer's statement concluded, "He would like his fans to pray that he has a safe trip and a safe return home. He appreciates your support."
He was in London for Saturday's Live 8 show, his publicist Shana Gilmore told Reuters from Los Angeles. Asked why anyone should pray for him, Gilmore said, "He wasn't hurt or anything, but just the fact that he was there and all that."
Omarion was the teenaged lead singer of the chart-topping band B2K before going solo. The 20-year-old's first solo album "O" debuted at No. 1 of Billboard charts earlier this year.
if no one has mentioned it yet I'd just like to say what amazing guys/gals those paramedics are that ran from the Royal straight to the scene of the accident to help the wounded with no regard for their own safety, they had no knowledge of whether it was a chemical attack yet they waded on in there. they've got balls. they are real heros...
Hats off. To all of them. I can't think more highly of them

Last time I was in London a few months ago I was in the middle of reading Haruki Murakami's Underground. It is a compilation of first hand accounts from the Tokyo gas attacks in 1995. It eerily reflects today's events
jon bda - that sounds a bit like a (cruel) hoax.. a publicist probably wouldn't say "and all that", and if it's a personal statement, surely he should say "I", not "He".
Fake, surely?
jon_bda, as soon as I read that I straight away thought: Black rapper.
I don't know why... but my thoughts shot straight to that. (I don't even know who the guy was.. well I do now, just searched Google)
do you know what really bugs me? the way the US seems to feel the need to "steal the spotlight" from london... there's bombs in london, so they automatically go into red alert mode and start searching trains etc. I dont think these terrorists are stupid, and by attacking the US at a few hours after attacking london would be god damn stupid!
grr!

i am truly saddened by what happened today, the innocents always have to suffer.
They're keeping the Americans happy. Think about it, a bomb blows up a train in another country (remember Madrid?) and we all go "Argh! I hope our trains are ok!". That's what the Americans would have done today. So the Police over there have to be seen to be doing something, just to keep the citizens happy.
Also, like you say, attacking the US a few hours after the UK would be "stupid".
I.e., you wouldn't expect it......
See what I mean?
Most countries stepped up their security afterwards.

I can't quite get my head around the fact that this morning the attack in Kings X was just before 9am because this time last year, I was working in London, getting in from my home in Swiss Cottage by taking the Northern line southband from Belsize Park. Now I know it's a different line, but I still went through Kings X between 8.55 and 9.05 every morning to get down to Charring Cross for 9.30, and jeash it sure does make you stop and think!
Also I was worrying this morning because my brother was similarly going into London on the tube for work but thank god the disasters happened before he got on. Unless you experience it first hand, you cannot imagine how it feels to be worrying like that, as I'm sure a number of us unfortunately have been.
Thanks to all of you who have been keeping us informed today, it's been great considering the confusion and mayhem that has been going on!
