i have shopped at scan for years and hated paying the postage on some of the cheaper items i think this is a great move it saves a 13 mile trip for me thats 26 miles total....now if they could only get some DELL Ultrasharp 2405FPW 24" Widescreen LCD Monitors that would be great..has anyone been there recently? there are internet connections so you can order online and go to another desk and cut some of that queue out..

    Hi Guys,

I haven’t posted before but I thought it is now time for me to give you my views. As you know, we work very closely with David and the guys at HEXUS. I’m happy to do what I can for the community, since, at the end of the day without you guys I would not be doing what I love, and that is running SCAN.

My aim is to make SCAN the ultimate online shopping experience. Your help and feedback over the past year is essential for us to learn what we can do to make things better.

My aims and thoughts on doing this offer are to be loyal back to the people who have supported SCAN over the last year. I want to prove to all the loyal members that their support does not go unnoticed, the comments, feedback both good and bad is very important to us. No one is perfect, and we do cock up now and again, but we use passion and make sure that problems are resolved as soon as possible, that is if problems do occur.

It is easier to complain than to praise, and I would like to thank all of you for the kind comments of support within this thread, it is good to see that people have thoughts and feelings about SCAN.

Over the past year I have noticed a few bad postings on our reseller rating over the years and have been personally involved in sorting out issues to make sure we do what we can. FACT: You cannot please everyone! But we do try very hard. The actions which we take often go unnoticed, and this is apparent when people compare the top e-tailers and choose to buy elsewhere, normally because we are out on price. Often I imagine people asking the all important “who gives a ****” question…? My answer is we do … We care about the customer; we care about getting it right.

At the end of the day, all of you have to remember is that we are human and we do make mistakes – if we do, please don’t flame or scream blue murder; give us the chance to put it right. Just so you know - having been in the industry for a good few years, I have learnt quickly, and the hard way that when you give an inch you often get taken for a mile.

We have a complex supply chain, so do go easy on us if there are problems or delays. The offer I have put forward applies to the mainland UK only and does not involving any other couriers or cheaper methods of shipping other than we currently use. Yes, we do ship everything via Citylink, and trust me – I know the nickname some of you have for them.

As always, my team will always try our best to help you….

This is one of the top priorities of our developers and we will have this online within the next couple of days (at the latest!). We are pulling out all of the stops, and we want to make sure the system is in place and works

    Thanks Guys,

    Elan

Aye, my only annoyance was the high postage costs, and now they will be cheaper than Novatech, who are just round the corner.

Excellent stuff. I often place lots of smaller orders and it's annoying when you have to pay silly postage costs on top of what might only cost £10 or something.

For example, today I ordered a 17" TFT from one company and 2 sets of speakers from another, the total postage was almost £20, just wish I'd known about this offer beforehand.

Oh well, I'll definitely be using this one next time
