    I haven’t posted before but I thought it is now time for me to give you my views. As you know, we work very closely with David and the guys at HEXUS. I’m happy to do what I can for the community, since, at the end of the day without you guys I would not be doing what I love, and that is running SCAN.

    My aim is to make SCAN the ultimate online shopping experience. Your help and feedback over the past year is essential for us to learn what we can do to make things better.

    My aims and thoughts on doing this offer are to be loyal back to the people who have supported SCAN over the last year. I want to prove to all the loyal members that their support does not go unnoticed, the comments, feedback both good and bad is very important to us. No one is perfect, and we do cock up now and again, but we use passion and make sure that problems are resolved as soon as possible, that is if problems do occur.

    It is easier to complain than to praise, and I would like to thank all of you for the kind comments of support within this thread, it is good to see that people have thoughts and feelings about SCAN.

    Over the past year I have noticed a few bad postings on our reseller rating over the years and have been personally involved in sorting out issues to make sure we do what we can. FACT: You cannot please everyone! But we do try very hard. The actions which we take often go unnoticed, and this is apparent when people compare the top e-tailers and choose to buy elsewhere, normally because we are out on price. Often I imagine people asking the all important “who gives a ****” question…? My answer is we do … We care about the customer; we care about getting it right.

    At the end of the day, all of you have to remember is that we are human and we do make mistakes – if we do, please don’t flame or scream blue murder; give us the chance to put it right. Just so you know - having been in the industry for a good few years, I have learnt quickly, and the hard way that when you give an inch you often get taken for a mile.

    We have a complex supply chain, so do go easy on us if there are problems or delays. The offer I have put forward applies to the mainland UK only and does not involving any other couriers or cheaper methods of shipping other than we currently use. Yes, we do ship everything via Citylink, and trust me – I know the nickname some of you have for them.

    As always, my team will always try our best to help you….

    This is one of the top priorities of our developers and we will have this online within the next couple of days (at the latest!). We are pulling out all of the stops, and we want to make sure the system is in place and works

    Thanks Guys,

    Elan
    That was nice getting the email from Hexus about the Scan deal. I was reading through the many posts of "great" and "thanks Scan and Hexus" and thought to myself ,ok potentially good but nothing has happend yet but upon reading Elan`s post my thoughts were;

    Elan, if you truely mean what you say , and ive no reason to doubt you, as Ive yet to shop with Scan ,then if you treat customers well as you propose and fair comment if the customer can give you the chance to sort out the occasional blooper ,then Scan will become the Nos1 e-tailer in the UK, no doubt. This wont be by slick marketing , but by what seems to be the simplest thing to do , provide a service you would wish for yourself. I really hope you deliver on your promise Elan as I will be delighted to shop with your company in the future

    So can we have instructions for logging on to the SCAN accounts page, it's asking for more than your "HEXUS.community username, and registered email address" such as first name / last name etc.

    Got to admit, it's a great offer and cannot start soon enough. Was always jealous how American retailers would offer rebate deals, but us brits never got anything. Plus with this offer it benefits you on every order, not just certain items.

    what about us poor folks in northern ireland ?
    any chance of reduced or free shipping for us ?
    so many companies charge huge sums of money for postage to n ireland and i cant work it out....

    i sent an insured package to usa a couple of weeks ago to usa for 7.66 you would think that deliveries to n ireland would be alot cheaper !

    You should try living in Australia and order online.

    Companies treat it like it's on the orbiting Space Station and charge accordingly.

    Seriously, I'm happy for you guy's. (Plus a bit envious)

    It's about time other countries, apart from the U.S, got a decent deal!

    Well done, and enjoy!

    Thing about this, is its genuinely useful, and will save people money. Its not one of those crap gimmicks you see around like - 'Simply fill in the form we send along with your order, return it to us, and we'll rush you your first token. Simply collect 25,764 tokens, and we'll give you a 12% discount on all pencil sharpners* purchased from our store, between 4pm and 4:15pm, every second Tuesday, while stocks last, subject to status, subject to credit check, subject to anyone being mug enough to bother with this gimmicky crap'.

    * - Not including deluxe self-sharpening models.

    I like this one - order something from us, and we'll save you some money. No messing about. Its a proper mans offer.

    Well done all. My next purchase will be from Scan; I've learnt my lesson many, many times over, due to ordering from... well, lets just call them 'lesser retailers' and leave it at that.

    Top stuff David \ Scan. Genuinly impressed and pleased with this.

    You don't beat us at sport, mate, you beat us at cricket.

    And, as I'm sure you know, you're not even managing to do that at the moment.

    Well done Hexus team and thanks to Elan Raja III for the very generous offer. Like others have said this will definitely swing me to Scan more often in the future.

    I know a lot of you are wondering when this will be going live.

    I am sure a few of you shall appreciate a bit of work has to be done at our end in order to implement this offer as we shall have to set the system up in order to link it somehow with Hexus however I am sure David & Elan know what needs doing to implement this and it should be live VERY shortly.

    I shall have a quick word with Elan tomorrow and see what the current status is however my guess is that we are talking days rather than weeks (Hence the announcement) and that things should all be up and running soon.
