    Mash them up into a pulp and pour it into a rubber glove. Then slap yourself, many times, for ever eating the so called "food" you bought from McDonald's.

    McD's = eeewww

    True, but its not the germs that make you ill, it's the toxins they produce and the microwaves will do bugger all to them.

    Sensible thing is to bung the spare burgers in the fridge, chill them down to slow bacteria reproduction and then heat them up when you need them.

    McD's bung their burgers after 15 minutes not because of H+S issues but because of quality issues (unbelievable, I know), but it;s all to do with how appetising a load of lettuce looks after its been wamred in a bun on a hot burger for 15 minutes.

    The same will happen to your Big Macs, they'll be safe to eat provided you either chill them down quickly and re-heat thoroughly, but just how savoury and microwaved bun and a load of lettuce will be is another matter.

    i have started using my frying pan to rehead - so meat in the microwave for 60 seconds, into the frying pan with a tablespoon of water, lid on for about 3 minutes - bread gets nice and warm, and the meat sizzles nicely. doesn't affect the lettuce or mayo too badly, and prevents the odd sensation of chilled bun with lukewarm meat. i generally do it with nandos chicken burgers.

    There was a wendy's at a motorway service station I stopped at a while ago.. I was like (on the M6 toll road afaik).

    I don't mind MacD's.. known a lot of friends who have worked there & said the hygiene and what not is pretty good.. also known people working in KFC/Burger king and I'd /never/ eat there.. KFC especially (seen as my mum used to love it until it put her in hospital with food poisoning..)...

    My g/f loves MacD's though... (no she is not obese .. far from it.. no idea how she does it).
    We cannot choose what we are.. but what are we but the sum of our choices?

    The decent Ed's diners are damn fine too. Especially with their choc-peanut butter malts. However Tootsies is good.

    There won't be enough toxins in a burger, unless it has totaly putrefied. Bacteria continue to produce toxins in your system after you eat them (if the quantity is large enough that many get past your stomach acid) and that is useually what makes people sick.

    I've never heard of anyone getting really ill from eating properly reheated food, even if it was spoiled before reheating. There was a roadkill eating fad in the early 70s in some parts of the US and the rate of illness from that was pritty slim, even for the less than fresh kind.

    As an inveterate tightwad, and disorganised idiot, I was pleased to discover that botulism toxin is destroyed by heat. If I have some leftovers that have been out for longer than I'm comfortable with I heat them to thermonuclear temp in the microwave and then ensure they stay piping hot for 5 minutes.

    15Mins, yeah right... I worked in one part time for a few months, could easily be sat there for a good 2-3 hours... looked horrible afterwards!

    You Brits should be careful--western Europe is closing in on America in terms of fatness. If you keep eating at McDonalds, you will all turn into Texans with different accents.
