i can't stand spiders, i think it's cos they crawl around so much and you never no where they are, tho i spose with those huge hairy things you should know where they are!
i can't even stand the thought of putting a glass over them, yuk! i just find the nearest big item like a golf club/chair/person etc and hit the spider repeatedly, i'm cruel i know but they CRAWL!!!
however if someone is there to take it out of the house for me i'm fine, just hate them being in the bathroom/bedroom with me, why should they get to stare at me??

They say you might as well take them a mile away rather than just throw them out the windows as they find there way back in.

ah don't say that!! i knew it but i didn't want people to say that to me.. i was living in my blissful bubble where i thought that if you evicted them they had better sense than an xfactor contestant to know that they weren't wanted.
i'm still going to pretend anyway.. i love my goldfish memory..
yeah i don't like spiders.. they CRAWL....

As much as I dislike them, being a spider would be kind of cool. I imagine that scuttling around is much more fun than walking. Just look at the speed they can go, the things they can climb...

It's just so tragic that God made them so damn repulsive, otherwise we could all celebrate their uber-mobility

I had one of these coming at the in Indonesia a few years back. It got within about three foot, reared back (a little dramatic I remember thinking) and hissed at me - seems it was blowing air through it's mandibles, or whatever they're called.

So I hit it with a flipflop until it's legs fell off.

    Hugely satisfying.

Some spiders to project venom at range - possibly what the hissing was about?

If something tried to "hiss" at me like that, I would have butchered it there and then. But most of the daddy long legs/spiders in my house just mind their own business, so I leave them alone (unless they're too close for comfort by my bed or something )

moral of taht story - don't wash your feet - they may save your life (by gassing a spider) hehe

Our spiders have to run the gauntlet of 3 puddy tats.

I don't think there are all that many cats in Indonesia.....something to do with running the gauntlet of 3000 different varieties of poisonous spiders....

I've noticed some big spiders recently - went downstairs to the kitchen and put something in the bin, to find a massive spider right above it.
Desperately got some shaving foam to try and do away with it - but it skittered along the kitchen floor unaffected!
Then i got the guiness book of records and squashed it... leaving the book on it overnight..... but the person who removed the book from the floor said there was no spider there.....
So it's out there, somewhere, waiting to get ray ven gay on me :O

Update on the one in my bath :

It was still there after a day, so I tried filling up the bath a little and the bandit started skimming across the surface! Obviously not heavy enough to break the surface tension.

    Whisko...tango....foxtrot....

Did that by any chance have NO effect on the spider and just make a mahooooosive mess everywhere?
