On a side note, do you think you'd actually have to buy a TV licence if you owned a freeview TV card? or would they still be able to find you out?

I can't complain really. Michael Winner in a Frock pissed me off immensely! I wished the stupid fat pillock would piss off and he did. Only to be replaced by women dressed in pink singing a horrid tune. I prefer the Shelia's to that pompus tit.

Apparently they really did have detectors that worked off the flyback from a CRT, this could be matched to the transmitted signal, to detect a TV.

Wether they used them or not is another matter.

Its not a case of detecting if you have a TV. To prosecute they need to catch you watching it (or some say having the channels tuned is proof enough).

Now they need a warrent to entor your home, how would they get that? Only proof they could have is that you don't have a license.

But anyway, its not as if its hard to get a tv license.

Hmmm... So really, in all honesty, what with most of us having TFT's now, we could just get a Freeview TV card from somewhere and nobody would be able to say anything really. If they must have a reason for you owning it, it's simply for playing your console through your monitor, as you don't own a TV.

No that it matters though, we have TV's and pay license etc, but in theory ^

If thats what your wanting to do, i belive portable tv's aren't licenseable.

so a laptop + USB tv capture, running off battery would be legal.... apparently.
