    Not.
    You have a point!
when i comes to road users men out number women (iam sure) so accident rates overall will be higer for men - and iam pretty sure it would be the same if it were the other way round.

Just got my dad to get an insurance quote to put me on his car. £250 till May 2006 would be 5x's that amount if i tried to insure myslef

This thread is living proof of just how brilliantly effective that Micheal Winner esure advert is (yes, he did this one too). He may be annoying, but hellfire he knows how to get a product into people minds. It's a brilliant, if very VERY irritating, campaign. He has make Esure and himself a very tidy profit from being a rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish. And fair play to him, i would annoy you happily for a couple of million quid!!!

BTW, TV 'detector' vans never had anything in them appart from PAPER RECORDS in them. I thought that was common knowledge. But then we invented databases and suchlike. Now we never really see those vans anymore and thats why!

As for the girls being better drivers, that was also a marketing gimmick to attract more sales from the female population. It's amazing what a bit of flattery can do Get with the programme guys!

Australians piss me off normally, so combining car insurance with them leaves me feeling suicidal.

Get this off our TV. Now.

The ad for Bell Insurance is terrible I'm surprised anyone takes out a policy with them.
Bored of the old one, new one coming soon

What about Ocean Finance? Those adds are just nasty. Never trust a company with an avertising budget of about £3.50.

it was also all over CSI last night as sponsors.

but, tbh, it's not only women insurance. I rang Diamond last time I was up for renewal, it just wasn't cheaper than churchills for me. But then again, it wasn't massively expensive either - in fact slightly cheaper than some of the others.

There are lies, damn lies and statistics. Basically a statistician can take figures and pretty much make them present anything they want.

As for the e-sure adverts....they suck....nuff said really. Happily I don't have to risk seeing it when I switch on the TV here. But I still remember that irritating tub of lard Winner smarming his way across the screen. I guess he'd run out of places to give him free lunches in return for a good review in his restaurant guides.

Jon refuses to put me on his insurance, he says i'm better off with my own policy because of building up NCB's, he was gutted when i got a quote for his 1.8 Laguna, it was £485 for me as a new driver for a year, £100 cheaper than his first insurance for a crappy 1.4 Escort

isn't TV licensing only there because of the BBC anyway?

The "beeb" hasn't played a good show on its main channel for years. BBC2 has had all the great shows, yet its not their main channel.

yeh - i did want a clio for when i passed my test - a nice new black one they look pretty nice.
i will have to see what i can afford - i have to lug a drum kit around alot so a car that can fit all that in would be excellant - quite like a Focus 1.6 zetec insurance group 5/6 so within my limit !

    ah well

    Va va vooooom!

I used to drive a 1.6 laguna, not a bad car. I like way the 4 ways come on automatically when you do an emergency stop. Very handy on British motorways. Test drove teh 2.0 Turbo as well. Which was fun. Like you say, it's a shame it's built in France by disinterested Algerian immigrants.
