I'm going to put an old printer of mine on ebay, it will send via first class Royal Mail, how much shall I charge for postal insurance?
Thanks

This might be of use
Royal Fail ooops, I mean Royal Mail
Dave
Been looking on Google and royal mail's website and couldn't see anything. I can't see anything there for postal insurance?
£4 sound fair? or cheaper?
its right in the link, 1.25 will get you 1000 of compensation, so unless its an a3 colour laser or some crazy plotter 4 quid is a rip off, but a lot of items on ebay rip you off for postage, so i suppose its up to you.
Alrighty, 1.25 it is. Thanks
Dont go to the post office, gets mugged instead- it will cost you less
Dunno how much you're printer will go for, but they now include £30 free insurance on first and second class... just ask for a receipt.
They always have offered insurance up to 100x the value of a first class stamp. A Certificate of Posting is what you need (although the receipts that the post offices round here now issue have a space for the guy on the counter to write in the postcode which I dare say is as good).Originally Posted by Matt1eD
XA04, postage on a printer is likely to bo considerable, I hope you've weighed it....parcel post will probably be your best bet, anyway.
Thanks for the replys guys.
I havn't weighed it, but I checked the prices on Royal Mail's website, and checked on websites for the weight (2.3kg), so I'm just going to charge a tenner for the postage. Most other people seem to be charging the same for sending printers.Originally Posted by Rave

Tell me about it, uses tons of the ink too.
Staples the stationers are agents for DHL, they'll send pretty much anything you can carry in the shop for £8 next day, only includes £100 insurance though
I don't think theres anywhere I can go in Scarborough to use the service DHL..
