Personally I think thats quite a worthwhile hobby myself, if you enjoy something go for it. You only live so long anyway, no point in living a sterile existance(*looks over at the anti-smoking brigade*)Originally Posted by Theo
Anyway Ramedge, the quality of lazerdiscs is generally lesser then of DVD's, but much like vinyl, if ones been well made, the quality will be a bit higher, also many people collect them because they have high quality original versions of things. I believe theres a lazerdisc of star wars everyone collects because with the DVD lucas "tweaked" it and did some family friendly updates, whereas the lazerdisc was the full high quality unmessed with version. Likewise theres a very popular Blade Runner pressing out there.
Not sure how much they stored, but they were big things. Roughly the size of an old LP.
AFAIK they don't have higher bit rates per se, they don't have bit-rates, analogue just...doesn't. It has different problems, but different ways of describing those problems.
