    Stupid Hobbys?

What do you like to do, something odd. Like a Marching Band?

Surely people wouldn't think their hobbies are so stupid if it's a hobby to them?

I agree. People in foreign countries may have hobbies that we see as being totally daft, but they may see it as being normal. It's just unfair to assume that certain hobbies are just stupid.

I collect LaserDiscs... The old 12" movie discs that were available before DVD's were around. I have over 2500 of them, from the earlier releases in the 1980's up until the last Dolby Digital / DTS / Widescreen pressings from 1999-2000, and my floor is creaking under the strain. They are not quite up to DVD quality in terms of picture (but it's close) - They are an analogue format so no blockies / artifacts / 'colour banding', and in my opinion the sound is truly superb. No compression y'see, higher bitrates... hello? heeeelllloooooooooo... Oh you've all fallen asleep...

    Do I achieve geek status?

LOL I remember back in College (97 ish) going back to a mates house and watching some laser disks - that was so cool back then, I think it still counts as cool. Do they cost a lot now? or is it a cheap way of getting films?

id love to see the quality of a lazer disk, when people say vinal is better than CD is it like that Laz0r disk better than DVD etc etc. (Betamax ftw)

How much can you store on a Laz0r disk iam guessing about the same as a CD, its wierd i ve only ever hear about lazer disks a few times and dont know much about them apart from the obvious !!
