Been at my present employer for 16+ years too. Needs must. The baby comes first.
I haven't told anyone at work i am finishing. As i hand my notice in i am on hols. Notice period is when i am on hols. Thing is, i hate where i am working anyway!
if you hate where you are atm, it sounds like this is the best thing all round
well done (with everything, kid, job, etc.) Koolpc
Cheers Funkstar.
Work will be in for a shock tomorrow!! Plus i have taken all my 2007 years hols!! I know i am not entitled to do so in such a short period, i am supposed to work through the year to get them all but to hell with them!! I was owed 20+ days last year and they would not let me carry any over to this year. I was on the sick so missed the 31st december deadline to take them all.
I suppose they could doc my wages. I don't care. They can stick it anyway! My wages won't be much this month anyway. How else could they try to get it back? Courts? Would they bother?
Hey Koolpc,
Our baby boy was born last Sunday. Is yours sleeping through the night yet? We're suffering a bit from sleep deprivation!
Babies FTW!!
Congratulations mate.
That is the hardest thing. No sleep! Our girl is over 4 months old now and sleeping between 7 to 10 hours a night at the mo!! Awesome. Getting them into a good feeding routine is important. We feed on demand but it is working out to every 3.5 to 4 hours for feeds but the last feed is around 10pm.
She is teething too and we have to put scratch mits on here as she looks like she has been in a cat fight!! lol.
It is a massive learning curve having a baby to look after.

my god he's multiplying
a belated congrats
Not to put a downer on your newborn or anything, but it's only in the last six months that my wife and I have been getting a decent nights sleep, and our kids are nearly 5, and nearly 3. Some kids just don't ever learn to settle until several years into development, and when you throw in colds, bad dreams, and overactive imaginations, you could be experiencing sleep deprivation for some time to come....
....you get used to it though, but I think I can count the number of full nights sleep we've had since the birth of our first child on the fingers of one hand.
Good Luck!

firstly I blame the wife, and secondly the digital camera. The camera because it's just as easy to take 50 pics as it is to take 1 (especially using rapid multiple exposures), and the wife for two reasons 1) she never lets me throw any away, ever, even if they're blurred, & 2) she produces bloody gorgeous kids - and I'm not just saying that, this is my daughter link

Yeah very pretty. You are going to have some problems when she gets older - all the boys will be sniffing around.
Make sure you own many sticks.
