Unhappy What can i do? I think i've been robbed by my Girl Friend

Oh Great what a nice way to celebrate 2007 with my Girl Friend with me at home with my family.

Thought i would ask you guys for help as im sure that my GF has nicked £60 from my bedroom.

Basically i sold my Bike for £250 and also was given £60 for Christmas by parents. I counted the money on Saturday so i knew how much i had.

I kept the money in the top draw of my desk, ( I know Very Stupid) i kept the money i got for my bike separate from my xmas money.

The bike money (£250) was split into 2 sets of hundred so
4X £20 notes with one £20 note wrapped round them =£100

    2 stacks = £200

    and then the £50 was 2x £20 notes and a £10 note
    Total : £250

The Xmas money was £60 in a separate stack on the right side of the draw.

    2x £20 notes and
    2x £10 Notes
    Total £60

This all happened Sunday (New years Eve) as i picked her up on the way from town as i had purchased some snow boarding gear from town.

My GF was in a stress with me as she did not know i was planning to go snow boarding in the new year with my mate and not with her.

We talked about it and i said that we will go on holiday together a bit later in the year.

She was not happy and just went straight to my room and started using my PC so i thought i would let her calm down and talk to her later.

I came back later to find that she had been through my side shelves in my old TV stand that i use as a bed side desk, i asked her why is she going through my stuff, she said that some stuff had fallen out and she was putting it back. She then asked me who had sent me a xmas card that was from one of my x's. But thing was this card was right at the back and there was no chance it could have fallen out???

she stayed over with me and my family over night for new years but the next day before i was going to drop her off home i thought i would check my money to make sure it was all there so i could pay it into the bank the next day.

When i checked it, there was £20 missing from one of the 100 stack and a £20 missing from the £50 stack.

So £40 missing from the bike money.

then counted the xmas money and a £20 note was missing to.

I know this sounds hash but she has been through my wallet before as she has no money because she has a new flat and has borrowed money from me before.

But what the hell can i do???? As i asked my family if they had taken it and they said no and i trust them 100%

I did not ask my GF if she had taken it, i just said "where has it gone as you wouldn’t take it with out asking me"?

The money had only been in my draw from Saturday to Monday and only my GF and me have been in my bedroom.

I know i had not taken any of the money as I new it was all going to be paid into my bank on Tuesday/today.

I'm feeling really sick as i know my family would tell me if they needed the money but i know my GF has been in my room on her own?

    What should i Do?

When i was 15 i drove myself mad trying to figure out how i had lost £20. I concluded i had slipped it out of my wallet. It couldn't of been picked (lost it over barely 3 min) and the only conclusion i could come too was i had dropped it. Oh well life's a bitch i supose!

Now apparently i have trust issues, or so i've been told. But if you don't trust her enough too even think that she could take it without asking, your not going anywhere! So keep her as a shag buddy, or just end it.

I guess what i'm saying is my new perspective flatmate, if she 'stole' £100 from me i wouldn't be worried, i'd assume she had a damn good reason, and this is just my flatmate, not my girlfriend.

Confront her, if you feal that distrusting then you really do need to talk!

Now last time i was out clubbing in Swindon (4 weeks ago ish) for the valve sound system, i pretty much figured that any of the 'ladies' there would take any cash i had in my wallet. I mean seriously, i'm used to clubbing in strange parts of london, but swindon, damn skippy that was scraping the barrell.

Any chance you spent some of the money on snow boarding gear?

May be she knocked the money over, have you checked what she put back on the shelves -any money there?

Flamin' hell hon what a situation I'd say something to her like "OMG i'm more upset because they felt they couldn't of asked me for the money if they needed it, if it was asked for i'd of happily given it" just make sure she's never left alone in your room again, unless you fit locks on your drawers or get a safe, sounds drastic but at least your stuff will still be there

I find it worrying that you you can't leave your own stuff in your own room without it being rifled through and things go missing, that seems like a total lack of respect for you, I never go through my hubby's wallet without asking him first even after 14 years together, i'll never take money without asking him ( unless it's the odd fiver which I need and he's asleep, i'll always tell him as soon as he's awake )

    Hope you get it sorted,

Take something of equal value from her, being sure that she knows that you're the only person who could have taken it?

an eye for an eye eh?

tbh my impression of the swindon lass is that £60 is worth far more than their viriginity.

Theft is bad. Just dish out some really mean emotional stuff if you want to hurt her, the more i learn that seams to be the adult way to deal with things.

Tell her you got given a wad of forgeries & now the police are tracking them using CCTV footage & you're bricking it.

Girl's got some savvy not nicking much.

Set up your webcam on motion sensitive & drop a hint you've had a windfall maybe. Catch her in the act.

It's unlikely its dropped down the back of anywhere if £20 has gone from each stack.
If you trust your ability to count and have to ask on an internet forum what you thnk you should do then I think you already know the answer and your just asking here to confirm what you already think..

I would have to agree with either talking to her about it, just try not to make it seem like you're accusing her.

There's nought wrong with Swindon lasses.. Though you must have been pretty desperate to try clubbing here.

If you really care for her, just ask her like you did to your family and trust her words. I don't know maybe she's just trying to get your attention? If you think you can't trust her then I'm afraid it's time for you to end your relationship.

just ask her casually if she borrowed £60 off you the other day as you cant find it.

gives her the opportunity to say 'oh yeah i did sorry i'll get it for you'

    or something like that
