    it was just a joke
he's just trying to make the point of how quiet they are..
they're even quiet at 100% fan speed

    thanks
i don't think the mods will mind if it's in here, seeing as this post is just for everyone to post 9800GTX related stuff.. (which this kinda is )
    and SiM definately won't mind.

Anything goes afai-care... but you don't need to go off topic too much... if one person deviates, just ignore him...

I am going to do 3dmark 06 on my hd2600 pro now and see how much of an improvement I get once I put the gtx in...

Not expecting much with my spec, but if it is smooth at 1920x1200 I will be very happy

Either the card is more underpowered than first thought or you have issues with your rig.
Im getting on for 16K with the 8800GTS 512mb.......there is plenty more left in the tank aswell.
What kind of issues exactly? You may score 1000 points more but my score is with everything at stock, including my dual core CPU. If I had a quad (like you) my score would be at least 1000 points higher. I don't really see your point, everyone knows that at stock speeds the 9800gtx is just a slightly higher clocked 8800gts.

Crysis - 1920x1200, all settings on high. Absolutely fantastic!

    8800GTS personally
even though i got 1 of the 9800GTX's when they were £170

Azza - that voltage seems a bit high on your Q6600 for that overclock!
to get mine stable at 3.6GHz i only needed to give it 1.36!
    you're giving it a full .12v more..

Set to 1.45v in BIOS... board gives more than it says it does.

    Re: 9800GTX ftw

not trying too bash or anything but to be honest it does seem rather low from these cards. Just too compare i will post screenshots of my result from 3dmark 05/06 (when downloaded) and im using a dual core not quad with a 8800GTS @ stock(well factory oc) will tell you results soon.

remember that the people who bought these paid pretty much the same as a 8800gts costs anyway
