    I've said it before...
C'mon NV, compete ! We need you.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

I'm liking that the expected board length is the same as the GTX280 - my case won't handle any longer than that.

I'm not liking the Single precision performance is estimated to be 1 GFLOPS worse than the the HD5870, even if Double precision is slightly better.

Re: More Fermi pictures with possible specs??

these Fermi cards are REALLY gonna have to pull it out the bag to even come close to competing with ATi's newest cards.
they'll be 6 month old tech before NV get anything out :\

Fermi does look good on paper, we just need nvidia to bring it out.

Hope they can before we lose any more companies.

The single precision is lower, OTOH, the 5870 only has 62% of the Double, 76% of the memory bandwidth, 82% of the TMU fillrate, and 86% of the fillrate compared to the 380. (if those specs are true)

I've seen information about Fermi that is not public yet, I think this will be NVIDIA's most significant launch ever, G80 included. People are going to want this product, it's just better than a 5870.

Of course, until they're available the point is moot, and the best single GPU card for straight out performance is the 5870. On features, it's lacking though.

My son and I are working our way through Batman Arkham Asylum now, which is a great game. The game is a much different experience without the PhysX turned on, and the work they've done optimizing it for 3d Vision is very nice as well. Playing it without PhysX you may as well be playing the console version, there's really no comparison.

What features is it lacking exactly? Physx and stereocrappy? One feature hardly anyone wants and you really do not want to get me started on the other....

Well, if nvidia were not such a under-handed-we-don't-like-competition company, you could have thrown a nice cheap nVidia card in for Physx or even used a dedicated Physx card.....but alas, they are that company and it is because of nVidias shady business practices that you are playing without Physx.

But you knew that already, yet still tried to turn it a dig at AMD....priceless....Well done, your propaganda peddling is still as fine as ever.

Didn't I read Fermi isn't due until Q1 2001...Anything that's said right now is going to be so far out of date as it when it arrives as to be pointless, surely? Won't ATI be introducing the HD6**0 series by then? I forsee ATI dominating 2010 in the same way Nvidia dominated with the 8800GTS / GTX in when was it, 2007/08?

Interesting supposition when you don't really know anything about ATi's competition, and are assuming that ATi will update their successful 5XXX line in 6 months. (which has only happened once that I can remember with the X1900)

You know Rollo, if you'd of left out that plug for batman AA at the end of your post it would of been better.

I'm still waiting on the fermi before I move off my current 9800gtx
As I said the fermi looks great on paper, but that doesn't mean they will be.
I'll happly wait for real numbers atm and to see what game developers will do with dx11 & physX before I make any real choise over my next card.

Sorry, under NDA, can't tell you why I think this. You don't have all the info you need to comment yet.

As far s PhysX goes, all the reviews like it, and ATi users sure freaked out when it was taken away.

On 3d, I've actually been using it and know how great it is. Check the 3d thread on ATi's fansite if you don't believe me. Oh, and ATi cares as they are trying t get it together as well.

Doesn't matter.....I doubt many here would believe what you had to say anyway. You have managed to discredit yourself quite spectacularly since joining here.

As far s PhysX goes, all the reviews like it, and ATi users sure freaked out when it was taken away.
The enthusiasts did, yes. The vast majority of ATI users never had it (so there was nothing to take from them) and quite a lot of them probably don't even realise it exists.....in fact, I would think a good proportion of nVidia owners don't know they have, or even what is, Physx.

All nVidia have done is angered enthusiasts......which is interesting after hearing about the nVidia partners having troubles selling high-end cards.........maybe that now makes a lot of sense. I guess you reap what you sow.

On 3d, I've actually been using it and know how great it is. Check the 3d thread on ATi's fansite if you don't believe me. Oh, and ATi cares as they are trying t get it together as well.
Of course they will be working on a version of it.....doesn't make it any less useless to the plethora of people who will refuse to pay double what they need to for a monitor, as well as having your choice of monitors taken from "almost limitless" to "pick 1 of 3".
