Nice to know that you have sorted the problem and it was a simple patch required! (touch wood)

why did you need to open the pipes any way ??
i run farcry, ut 2004, and doom on my 2400+ sempron 1.5 gig with a 9600 radion the first two are maxed right out with no probs doom is very heavy though some 64's dont like it try the patch and see if it will run after resetting the card and do one mod at a time to see if there is a glitch in the process you are trying

if he wants to run the games at high resolutions and with filtering effects like AA or AF then any little can help, those pipes may just be the difference between playable framerates and unplayable ones at 1280*1024 or 1600*1200 with the eye candy on.

I brought a new 6800LE last week.Dowloaded the Guru 7.1.8.1 Drivers (not extreme vers) and succesfully opened the 16 pipes with Rivatuner. So then i ran 3dMark05 with a score of 3540 with no artifacts!.. Oh and pre softmod score was 3240 (without softmod)! So now i try a game (Farcry) with the 16 pipes open. I ran the autodetect settings in the games configuration, which returns with a poultry recommended LOW setting! So i thought nothing of it and ran the game at high settings, but as soon as i get in the games beggining (training/caves) everything is bright yellow! So i play on a bit and then the grass has all black squares over it.."Oh **** i'm thinking" So then i try the card with the softmod off,but its even worse! So please can you help...Is the card cooked and should i send it back or could it be another problem. And why did it run OK in 3DMark05?
I suggest reinstalling the original 66.93, maybe that will get you straight.. Here is a qoute off the Guru page of the drivers. Modified drivers simply means that the author takes official or beta drivers from the manufacturer and starts to tweak them for either better image quality and or performance. Please bare in mind that the driver manufacturer never supports drivers like these. You use them at your own risk. For more information and dialog about these drivers I suggest you visit our forums where a dedicated section can be found on modified drivers

Sorry took so long ! I have tried nearly everything to instal the patch but no use. The only thing i have'nt tried is putting the 1.1 in before the 1.30 and then the 1.31 last. So if this don't work i am going to the shops!
