OK, so i have as it seems 2 dead pixels, but i need to have 3 for BenQ to replace my monitor.
Although one looks larger than the other, so i could possibly have 3 or more, does anyone know if i can get a dead pixel checker?
you can download a small program that does this for you. have a quick search on google for 'dead pixel check download' this should help you out.
Dead pixel buddy is your friend, but its a visual inspection only kind of thing
perhaps you should ask the question how can i make a few more pixels die.

i could try that on them
yes you do but you would have to pay some admin restocking fees.
...
you could always get a biro and colour in some pixels
i see so what can they charge you for? just del charges?
Theyre only illegal if you return it as new, i.e indistinguishable from an unopened package. Anything that isnt in that condition is returned at the sellers discretion, no under the dsr regs so they can charge what they want. Might be worht finding another problem, sticking button maybe?Originally Posted by Kumagoro
Wow, I thought the dead pixel problem was a thing of the past,….
I have bought 3 LCD monitors (15”, 17” and 19”) and there wasn’t a dead pixel among any of them. I guess I was just lucky then,….
Anyway,…
Good luck mate!
That applies to unopened goods. If you can see you have dead pixels, then youve opened it and you are out of luck on that score.Originally Posted by Blunty

It can be opened, provided its in its original condition.Originally Posted by PoGGeh

I read somewhere a while back that there was a little program that could kill pixels. Not sure how it works, maybe forces a pixel to change from one extremly state to another over and over too fast or something over a period of time. On the other hand, it could just be a myth as i have never seen or found it myself.
Maybe i should post info like that, normally i would not. But personally i think the whole dead pixel thing is a scandel and companies should take responsibility and replace them. Pesonally i think just one dead pixel mean the product is defective should make the product RMAable. Most dead pixels are dead before they leave the factory and they should be testing them better too. How many other products can you name that are sold with an acceptable level of faultyness? We are not buying fruit and veg here, these cost hundreds of pounds.
/sorry, rant over.
