    Wall Mounted 2
Checked to see what panel is used :-
Service Menu (sorry 4 crap pic) shows panel to be LM201W01 the same as :-
    From BE Hardware Review
Which is a bit of a bummer.

Haven't had time to game that much, but have run the sopranos dvd which ran very well.
Will have to see in the next week how the responce time measures up. Otherwise all is very well.

What put you off the Samsung in the end mate?

Reports of the backlight bleeding mainly here Samsung SyncMaster 225BW 22" .

Throughout the search i've beeen trying 2 balance quality/£ as i guess we all do. I'd originally started with the Viewsonic VX2025wm, from what i've seen (+your experience) the viewsonic seemed more like a value than quality line the new VX2225wm also falls into this category. Dell & NEC on the other hand seem better quality. I had thought that the samsung was in the last group, it may yet end up there but atm it's a new product & there seems to be to many commments re that blacklight bleed 4 comfort.

I would have gone 4 the NEC MultiSync LCD20WGX2 20.1 if it hadn't got the coating, I have a large window about 4~5ft at 90 degrees to monitor which gets sun all day.

The Dell was a "compromise" in away with the deal £ a big plus & also knew everything else was good except 4 the issue of which panel is it.

So far all is looking excellent though, hope it continues I just feel a little exposed re that slower responce time.

    What's your thinking ??

So far I have no complaints about my Dell 2007WFP, although I haven't given it a major work out in games yet .

That's not the same panel as the 215TW (which I can only find glowing reviews of) though?

Hearing talk of gradient banding on DVI with the Dell in a couple of places - really tending towards the view that there simply is no perfect 20-22" widescreen monitor around yet (still, the Dell is black, that might make do...).

Link: here - looks tons better than the vx2025 though...

This thread needs to stay alive for some while longer I think

No the 21" 215TW is different to the new Samsung SyncMaster 225BW 22" (see links)

Has been fixed EG Post#26Review: Dell 2007WFP (vs. Viewsonic VA2012wb)

Hell yes That's why most of us have taken around 2~3 weeks b4 taking the plunge.

Have seen westinghouse products get good reviews but am not aware of any eu yet alone uk outlet.

@ajbrun have you checked your panel is it the LM201W01 like mine ??

Backlight bleeding doesnt really bother me that much, but the viewing angle does, how is that with the dell? The backlight bleeding was spectacularly bad on the viewsonic, but as i say, never bothered me really

Viewing angle isn't a thing that bothers me but now i look is excellent. The specs are +/- 89degrees vetical & horizontal, wouldn't argue with that.

    luck

Took the plunge and ordered the Samsung...I've only had a few mins to check it out because my desk is full with 2 builds and my chair is full of boxes as well

    First impressions.

Looks nothing like the pictures, the pictures i looked at made it look kind of dark grey (graphite?) in colour and it has a silver bezel and black stand, with the same silver round the edge of the base of the stand. I think it looks pretty smart and sleek. I adjusted the height, and im pleased to say that it goes quite high, which is also good for me because i am tall. When the screen is a full height, the stand is quite flimsy/wobbly, in other words, if you press any of the buttons on the front, the entire monitor springs from side to side like it is on a spring, and looks like it should make a boyoyoying type noise its no big deal though.

Screenwise, No dead pixels, which is a relief, there is quite a lot of backlight bleeding, most notably from along the top edge*-, ill check it out further later on when i can sit down in front of it.

Default settings arent my cuppa tea, the contrast is too high and so is the brightness, there are somne presets, but the only one that looked ok was the internet one, again, ill look into this further.

I had a scare when i first turned it on, i got an on screen notification telling me to check my dvi cable and there was no picture from the computer, a couple of reboots later and it fired up fine. At the moment, text looks sharp, but light colours look washed out because of the high default brightness and contrast.

I'll report back later and post some pics if anyone is interested.

Hi Clunk, hope it all goes well m8.
There are 2 colours bot the black only seems to be available in US with silver only here, many of the review shots etc., are us based.

The height thing is a definate plus I've wall mounted mine, but the lack of any great height adjustment on the Dell would have bugged me.

Screenwise, No dead pixels, which is a relief,
    Amen 2 that.

I'll report back later and post some pics if anyone is interested.
That would be great, look fwd 2 it

    luck
