    PCI express power adapter cable

Ok, the latest in a long list of stupid miniscule little things that are stopping me from actually building my new pc is a PCI express power adapter cable.

I got a PCI express power adapter cable from ebay and surprise surprise, it doesnt fit my ati x1900xt . One of the little holes is the wrong shape wth

How many different types are there?

I'm pretty sure theres only 1 type of 6 pin pcie connector, can you do a pic of the end of it and I'll compare it to a proper one?

    Yes

It has a clip to stop it getting pulled out so theres only one way it can go in.

Clunk, I cant get a visible pic but it looks like this one

I have an adapter that came with my graphics card that I don't need and I just took a look at it and it doesn't seem to have the metal sqaure on the inside of the plastic on the bottom middle sqaure.
Also the top middle one isn't perfectly sqaure like the one in the picture you showed it is like one of the miss shaped ones.

EDIT: my adapter looks exactly like the one clunk shows

Complain about it to ebay saying it is a misleading listing perhaps?

Pay a visit to a near by Maplin? http://www.maplin.co.uk/?DOY=16m3 (scroll down to the bottom there are loads of store locations listed)
They sell them on their website find out which one is closest to you and give them a ring to see if they have any instore?
