9600gt 51mb wont install drivers

as per title, just got this and for some odd reason the drivers from nvidia dont reconise the card! i also tryed teh automatic thing on nvidias website and it reconised the card as a notebook driver? so i downloed the recomended driver and still it wouldnt install, any ideas why? thanks!

I have the mobile version of this in my Laptop (Nvidia 9600m GT 512) Upgraded from Vista 32bit to 7 64bit with no probs. Have also used the NVIDIA automatic detect with no problems.

COuld the card be faulty/sitting correctly?

What OS you running.

Download the correct driver;

Windows XP or Windows Vista / 7 32 bit or Windows Vista / 7 64 bit

Save it to your desktop.

Device Manager > uninstall/remove the 9600 completely and reboot. Ignore the automatic hardware discovery stuff (cancel it) and double click the driver you downloaded.
