    Unhappy Kingston DTSP/1GB Problem Accessing

    Hi guys,

Not sure if anyone can help me but I thought I'd give it a shot :-)

I've been given a Kingston Data Traveller Secure Privacy 1GB Flash Drive by a senior manager to 'sort out'... he's a new member of staff who has started work at my organisation but has brought this flash drive which WAS working on his old work PC.

Of course, he plugs it into one of our PCs, the applet is launched and he gets the message:

'Your DTSecure Privacy could not start. Please remove your DTSecure Privacy and try again'

I'm talked to Kingston and they were a remarkable waste of time, all I got was - 'we're not a data recovery firm'..????

I've tried to recover the files but, predictably enough, the secure nature of the drive is preventing them from being seen never mind recovered.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Best,

    Akira.

Try accessing the drive from within Linux, you can download ubuntu from http://www.ubuntu.com/, you don't have to install it to your hdd, just boot from the cd.
