LED switch fault (switch/circuit help?)

Hey guys,

Got an issue with my new case. Initially i had issue wiring it (mainly because i'm a moron) but now i've overcome this i've got a new, more circuit base, issue.

So basically there's a switch on the top of my coolermaster 690 II nVidia edition case which flicks the green case LED on and off. The issue is that at neither point of on or off does the LED come on. Its not an internal wiring issue its more the switch itself as if i lightly touch the button the light can turn on and before i was able to find a position which worked by slightly repositioning the switch. I'm not going to RMA the case because i think i may have done this myself, and its not really a massive issue i just like to have running lights on my rig...

If anyone knows what i need to do to this switch to get it working other than wiggling it like an idiot then i'd love to know Is there a spriing inside it i need to stretch out or what?

thanking is easy - the thanks button appears on the right hand side of people's posts. you just click it and voila. If it doesn't work it might be cos you're running some over-eager AV/IS suite. I had to white list the command to get it to work on my home PC.

Re the switch:

Could be a dodgy switch
Could be dodgy wiring to the switch
Could be poorly soldered connection between the wires and the switch
Could be poorly wired connector at the other end (though shouldn't be if wiggling the switch works)
Could be LED has been blown due to too much voltage (but if it works intermittently then prob not this).

Are you any good with a soldering iron? Do you have a multimeter to test the cables + switch I/O.

Also why do you think you caused this? It's pretty hard to break a switch. If you wired the LED to +12V and nuked it that's one thing, but a dodgy switch... well unless you were playing tug-of-war with the cabling I'd be surprised if you managed to break a switch.

don't have a soldering iron or a multimeter but i can probably get hold of one.
I'll get in there and have a look when i get a chance.
