    Question Gigabyte mobo problem

Friend brought their 'dead' PC round. Only about 2 years old. Gigabyte
    GA-8S661FXM mobo.
PSU fan goes, CPU fan goes. Nothing else happens. No speaker bleeps, no
screen activity at all. mobo RAM_LED flashes all the time (not sure if
it's meant to!) A quick check with a meter suggests all the PSU voltages
are about right. (Tried another PSU anyway, but no difference.)
Disconnecting all the drives makes no difference.

    Any thoughts??

    Thanks

Flashing light probably means its not detecting any RAM. Try reseating the RAM and / or trying alternative RAM. If a comp doesn't detect any RAM at all, it generally won't boot, not even to POST.

Tried different ram - no change. Ditto reseating CPU.
Different PSU makes the RAM led flash at a different rate, but that's all that happens.

    Doesn't look good!
