Sony do make PCs but they are also overpriced

Microsoft do make software and hardware - which are overpriced. **HINT** Windows 7 = Polished Vista**
Jokes aside...
You shouldn't judge a console by what games are exclusive to it. We are heading towards a future where there are no exclusives and each new game is released for all consoles. We should embrace this bright future. And.. we should judge a console on its hardware ability in the first place.
MS and Sony both dont have a huge library of exclusive game.
MS have forza, Halo and fable to name a few. ps3 has uncharted, little big planet, MAG/Socom, Killzone 2 and GT5. Most games are on both consoles. You cant go wrong purchasing either. If you compare the consoles machines itself, imo the ps3 edges the 360 because its more reliable, looks a tad sexier and you get better value all round from a ps3 due to no AA batteries needed to charge your control pad, built in wifi, build in HD media player(blu ray), quiter operation, easy to upgrade the hdd, built in support for almost any usb keyboard, mouse, joypad and wheel(G25 and G27 wheel) and to boot, lag free Online play with no online fee's.
What does the 360 have over the ps3 in terms of console machine? Control pad is slightly better than a ps3 pad imo, better social online interface(xbox live) and direct x 9 interface making it easier to develope games on.
The thing that really puts me off Sony with them dropping the ability to play PS2 games is they are really charging you a lot of money.
Every time you upgrade you are spending nearly £300. That is an upgrade that takes away ability to play old titles and leaves you new titles that does not make the most of your hardware.
And even then you have to think of Peripherals. Before it was just a case of buying one console and that was it.
PS3 new cell Processossor
PS3 Sound upgrade
So why are we babies crying over backwards compatability? It is the very least Sony could do. They are really taking the mickey out of it's customers.
i could of sworn the 360 was priced at £280 at launch with only a 20gb hdd and no HD playback and limited amount of backward compatibility at launch.
You had to wait a while for some games to be compatible.
You also mention about Peripherals? you need to buy more Peripherals for the 360 than the ps3. Again, have a look at what comes inside the box on a ps3 compared to the 360. imo the ps3 is a better value console then the 360.
£300 is a bargain for me having a system that can play HD content of all types ie games and movies for a very long time along with all the other features i have clearly noted in my previous post.
imo get a ps2 if your interested in playing ps2 games no1 is forcing you to upgrade to the ps3 slim as well. why upgrade? its pointless imo. the ps3 slim doesnt play games or movies any different then the original ps3
O and sony taking the micky because they dont want to support the ps2 compatibility on a NEXT GEN console? People cried how expensive the ps3 is and now when they take out backward compatible feature to reduce the cost of the machine people still moan at them
Who here bought or wants to buy a ps3 to play ps2 games?
Oh great and now we have PC fanboys on the loose. Why does it matter to you what I play my games on, can't you just let me be and be happy for me?
I don't go on your boards complaining how I have to buy and re-buy graphics cards every year (I've been on that treadmill before). Why can fanboys stop flaming on boards and start playing the systems they so obviously love. It's not like Sony personally came around and stamped on your Gran. No they didn't include a feature you want, that costs more to implement on their current console than buying an entire standalone PS2 which in itself will have greater compatibility than the PS3s that had BC.
As for consoles becoming PCs. One point I'd like to mention is that most people these days buy laptops. If you are lucky you can upgrade the harddisk, most only the memory and some not even that. Right now the trend is away from build your own and toward multiple devices with varying levels of computing ability.
Because many people complained about the high price tag of the ps3
Why I care about PS2 backward compatability .... because it was my main reason to buy PS3 as I already own many PS2 games, bought and paid for with real money that Sony now has in its bank account. They promised backward compatability on day of purchase, now they are breaking that contract! Does this give me the right to demand my money back?
Sorry? did you buy a 60GB? if so you have BC for the life of your console. If you bought a console without checking what it could do, that's your fault.
Sony allways cut features that few people use in order to make the console cheaper.
They cut SVideo and composite out from the PS1 leaving only the video adapter port.
They cut the Hard Disk bay and Firewire from the PS2 leaving only USBs.
They cut PS2 BC, 2 usbs and card readers from the PS3 leaving 2 USBs and PS1 BC.
Gave PS2 to grandchildren with suitable games, PS3 60Gig only compatable with some games, we were promised updates to improve compatability and additions to the compatability list. If compatability list is no longer to be updated and support not given, then surely this is a backward step.
I got what he said in the first paragraph. And I may agree with what he initially said about more games going multi-platform (though I also note that MOST PS3/Xbox360 cross platform game pretty much look/plays the same despite the hardware being differences). Incidentally, I do embrace 'this bright future' (even though I believe there will *always* be exclusives and it should be taken into account when purchasing hardware).
It might be a misunderstanding, but he still comes across as someone who value hardware more than software (fine if that's his thing) in the last sentence. Why would he say 'in the first place' otherwise? I read it as 'aside from the reason I've just given, it's how it should be done anyway'.
