    Nice

Slightly concerning that Google could wipe my phone at any given moment. I wonder if iOS/WP7 has the same capability..

<flame proof hat>Isn't it funny how android (and its various re-skins) are starting to look more and more like iOS with the same concepts? Row of most used icons at the bottom, the way folders work, the notifications area etc..until you get into the oodles of config settings where it reverts to "yuk"</flame proof hat>

With a slightly more objective head on, it's looking better..closer to something I would want to use, but doesn't quite have the polish yet, from that video at least.

Wonder how it got leaked out? and even ended up on ebay...presumably it was a field test device that "went missing", which is why Google were able to legally remote wipe the device.

I don't think it's funny - it essentially boils down to ergonomics. If there's a particular way of doing something that people find easier to use, everyone will eventually move to doing it that way. Apple simply hit the right ergonomics first: kudos to them.

I say funny because of how much many android users berate iOS for it's features, but then will be celebrated when they come to android The same thing happens the other way of course, just that as I prefer iOS as a mobile OS this is more amusing

Its a positive step though and the right thing to do - both of these OS's have features and design principles that work really well, and convergence is the best way to improve them both. They should indeed be stealing the best ideas from each other, as it benefits all of us.

and its funny how iOS5 is copying the `neat` features from android that apple users have been asking for - soon enough we`ll get GUI`s that all look and run very similar....

No we won't, because Apple will nick features from Android and then sue them saying they came up with it first!

looking at this vid, they look the same as android 2.x, so they've always been there, in fact my old nokia had this also so I don't see how it's particularly new or that it's recently been copied from iOS
