Xone is a joke atm. You'd need to be a lawyer to understand all the ownership rights and ****e. If their aim is casuals, how will they understand any of it?!

PS4 over the xbox, but if I were to upgrade to either it would be based on price, online subscription charges, the used game availability and performance as a media device beyond games.
Having said that, I won't be an early adopter of either, maybe wait a year or two before making a decision to get one and then decide which.
Had a 360 last time round. Online activation nonsense totally killed the xbox for me this time. Stop punishing me for being a paying customer, I don't understand why companies think I will pay hundreds upon hundreds of pounds to be treated like I owe them something. Also letting me use my TV to... watch TV really isn't a big deal and wtf with the kinect stuff, seriously. I'm sure there are people out there who like that kind of thing, but forcing it's usage is just annoying. It's another thing that needs to come out of a draw and be faffed about with and I don't want to be filmed constantly especially not when the security for this permanently on, permanently internet connected, heartbeat detecting, high resolution camera and mic in my house is provided by Microsoft. Yeah they've made progress of late, but nope, just nope.
I'm not sold on the PS4 yet either, still want to see more, but they keep using the phrase "frictionless and seamless gaming experience", which is exactly what I want from my games console. If they deliver it, I'll buy one.
EDIT: In fact thinking about my total spending on the 360, wasn't hundreds but probably thousands over it's whole lifespan. 300 for the console, 200 or so on other hardware bits, 40-50 games, 5 years of live. If I'm spending that kind of money on anything and what is ultimately in the case of this kind of DRM, getting very bad service. I'm taking my money elsewhere, end of. There will always be someone else to relieve me of it I promise.

The market has become quite confusing, with PCs becoming more affordable, rumours of Steam boxes and specialised Alienware launches, the proliferation of x86, the smartphone market and Ouya.
It's because of this that for consoles to stand-out this time around, they need to offer something more and something relevant. In the Xbox One I see an excessively large Sky+ box packed with features that I don't need or want and that probably won't work outside of the US.
With the PS4, several legitimate differentiating points caught my eye. The 'share' button has potential to tap a new market at no expense to the gamer that has been proven to work (League of Legends etc) and has the double effect of helping to advertise and raise awareness of an industry I hold close to heart. The focus on developers and aiding their creativity, though not something tangible is, without a doubt, going to help raise the bar on upcoming games and, for this I'm thankful. Though the future of PC gaming will likely see more use of hUMA, it's great to see the PS4 taking the initiative, making programming easier, simpler and more powerful, this will lead to performance that can be tapped at the right price and that won't distract developers away from making games, as opposed to engines to run them.
So for me, it's the PS4 all the way if I had to chose, however the future is unclear to me and so that price will likely have to be right for others to give it a punt.

Haven't had a playstation since the PSOne. Had both Xboxes but now I'm leaning towards the PS4. I'll reserve judgement (and my wallet) until they've been released for a while. Let the early adopters do the work before I decide.
Neither. The PlayStation is Sony in nature. The Xbox hasn't impressed me enough. Perhaps if I played fantasy baseball and watched sports on TV I'd get one. No wait, I still wouldn't.
Though Illumiroom was very impressive.
PS4 for me.
Sony better have a mindblowing desing
And many of you need specs. XBOX ONE or PS4 ? was the question. Why are you guys talking about PC ? Do you go to McDonalds and ask for a Chicken Royale ?
Um... yeahhh... you could do these on PS3 from Day one and without any subscription! ( Of course using a different browser )
Steam Piston for me thanks.
Neither, PC all the way....no TV so its moot anyways.
I won't be getting a console because I've never looked back after getting a PC.
Given the option of a free console from the next generation I would choose the PS4 because it puts games first and provides all the extras as exactly that, extras. I value the gaming experience far above all the added nonsense Microsoft has been announcing and the PS4 seems like it will deliver a better gaming experience.
Neither at the moment. I was really looking forward to the XBox One but this always online nonsense and issues with second hand games are real issues for me. Unless MS change their mind then I won't be getting one.
As for the PS4... Where's the info?!?
An Atlantean Triumvirate, Ghosts of the Past, The Centre Cannot Hold
The Pillars of Britain, Foundations of the Reich, Cracks in the Pillars.
My books are available here for Amazon Kindle. Feedback always welcome!
tee hee .. my vote PS4

PS4 would be my choice. Simply because I'm a hardware geek and would pick the most powerful.
The WII U doesnt look so bad now..
I have a 360, but that will be my last console. If I were to get one of the next gen, though, it would certainly be the PS4: looks to be the more "pure" gaming system; has more powerful internals; doesn't come with one of those f'kin 'ecks.
