980 ti of course, the way games are meant to be played...Nvidia.
980 Ti is the best gpu here, but i always support amd's benefit/cost and its ideals. One example is freesync, based on vesa standard vs g-sync, based on nvidia proprietary hw: you can achieve awesome performance using existing hw (cheaper monitor), and not have to buy an expensive one. AMD is about free and open, nvidia is about proprietary.
Graphics cards are just boring now. The whole sub £200 market is in a holding pattern now.
Not best pleased with Nvidia's shenanigans so will be looking to stick to AMD.
Not interested in linux drivers and I can't say I've noticed any difference between various AMD drivers of late.
EVGA 980 Ti Cant fault it.
It feels like both sides are meh to a degree.
I haven't gone red in a while so I'll probably head their way! If I had the money of course hah
I'm thinking with Steam OS gaining gamers awareness, AMD will be improving their Linux drivers over time anyway?
If I was forced to buy now - It would be 50/50 between the Fury X and the 980 Ti.. the 980 Ti being better at Rome 2 at 4K, so I might have a slight preference for that.
I'm more interested in next years cards to be honest, with 14nm based AMD Artic Islands with HBM2 cards and Nvidia's 16nm based Pascal cards, which should bring 4K gaming to the range under the high end.

Im thinkint about the R9 Fury x I've always been a Nvida man but times are tough and cash us short
Not really. There seems to be more money to be made when everything is proprietry. Granted, Amd get more respect and trust for being more decent from those that understand their practices. But clearly, not enough people are aware or care enough about that stuff. The market shares help verify that.

The problem is if you're the underdog making something proprietary is self defeating, there's little reason for developers to support your tech if you only have a 10-20% market share, just look at the problems Microsoft has with trying to gain market share in the mobile space.
Developers are less likely to invest the time & money in something that only has a small share of the market, Microsoft's solution to this problem is to allow their apps to be ported to the market leaders platforms in the hope that it will attract more developers and in turn be more attractive to customers, AMDs solution is to be free and open with their tech in the hope that others start using it, thus making it more attractive proposition.
