MV Ixius 3.6 Laptop and NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Go 256MB

Bottom line is that desktop-replacement laptops have just moved up another gear, so if you can justify spending £1750 and want a do-it-all laptop, MV's Ixius 3.6 is a good a bet as any right now.

    Mv?

    Hi people

    Anyone dealt with MV before?
I'm about to order one of these babies, but can't find much information about them on the net.

Anyone care to share their experiences, if any?

Umm.. £1750 for a 5-6kg desktop replacement laptop with tons of power..
    or...
£1750 for a 800g Sony Vaio X505VP with rather rather low specs..

Its actually not all that obvious to me

the plan is to use this as a desktop replacement (duh)

and working in front of a 10.4" screen, with bad eyes? not my cup of tea

    it's ordered now anyway
so keeping my fingers crossed that it's not a dodgy company..

    Of course..

Still.. After seeing how "ultra compact" can get, I am torn..
12.1" LCD and I would be all over it

    (I got a desktop already)

too bad they don't seem to be able to deliver

just spoke to them now, and apparently they've had problems getting hold of ddr2 memory, but the shipment of ddr2 memory should reach them on WEDNESDAY

this after them saying that having the laptop (sent to sweden no less) on the 10th of december shouldn't be any problems, then after some problems they said i would DEFINITELY get the laptop no later than the 14th. now it looks like the 21st

so far i'm not impressed :-/

Apparently there is a global issue with this DDR2 memory and none of the other laptop suppliers are able to get their hands on it either? will have to see

    Hi,

if you look at Alienware 7700m laptop, which is nothing else than an Ixius (it looks really close..), they won't be able to deliver them before mid february...
And they say they start to buid them actually...
So i hope Ixius will be faster that them to deliver the laptops.
Does anybody know how to order a laptop from them directly? there is no link on their webpage.
    Thanks,
    *Fabien

    Hi,

Thought this would be a good point for me to join in (i'm the MD of MV)! Great to see the interest in the MV Ixius.

Firstly an apology- our web-site has undergone some delays but will be fully up and transactional by the start of next week, latest. In the meantime, you can email your enquiry to play@go-mv.com and we will get straight back to you, or alternatively ring our sales line which is on the current web site.

Second piece of good news is that the Ixius is now shipping so orders placed now shoud be with you in 7-10 working days. The Ixius is fully upgradeable to a 2nd RAID configured HD, 2nd optical drive, and up 3.6ghz P4.

If you have any direct queries, please don't hestitate to contact me directly- jon.kitchen@go-mv.com- I will also be available on this forum with any q's you may have....

    Thanks!

    Jon Kitchen
