    Beef Joint

    Right, I've bought myself a beef joint, because, now I've read Jamie's Ministry of School book, I am big time

    I was planning to do it in my crockpot, with veg, but does anyone have any good suggestions on what I can do with it?

    Also, date on the joint says BB 29/11. If it's frozen will it last forever and a day? I'll either have it this weekend or save it until my GF returns on 08/12....

    If you freeze it it will last a fairly long time I think you are only supposed to keep things frozen for a couple of months though.

    There is some excellent information regarding freezers, their Star rating's and what time scale things can be frozen for at the following link ;

    Re: Beef Joint

    It will keep for a good few months, definately until your gf gets back although freezing can alter the texture of the meat. I tend to use beef in caseroles but try the bbc website for helpful cooking tips. I would give you the link but I haven't made enough posts yet apparently.

    Red wine always seems to add good flavor.

    Re: Beef Joint

    Cheers guys, I think as I'm relatively crap at cooking, i'll try a crockpot Roast recipe first and progress from there.

    I'm not a fan of alcohol in food, but thanks for the tip
