Everything, Everywhere, All at Once .... or whatever the exact title was.
Definitely weird. Definitely not what I was expecting. And in my insignificant opinion, definitely not up to the hype. Oh well.

A lesson learned from PeterB about dignity in adversity, so Peter, In Memorium, "Onwards and Upwards".
I have heard a few people say the same about that film.

Watched Master And Commander again last night. One of the best movies of recent years and one of Mr Crowe's best outings. Two weevils still makes me laugh.

I have been buying a lot of 80's and 90's blu rays lately. Mainly because they are dirt cheap and secondly because stuff is constantly being moved on or off streaming channels, I would rather have a better quality blu ray than streaming anyday.

Same here..i've been buying Blurays lately too for the same reason. (And the adverts the streaming channels are sneaking in these days!)
Agreed. That said, there is the odd film like American Psycho that once converted to HD it loses a little bit of the atmosphere, it becomes too clean. But yeah I've tried to upgrade from DVD where possible. Annoyingly the DVD menus were more entertaining along with the box art and design being more superior.

Me too .... almost. Except, I buy DVDs. Three more (one was a boxed set) arrived today.
Why DVDs? Essentially, my sight these days is the limitation, not the quality of the video footage.
As for streaming services, my experience is, I'll grant, limited, pretty much to Amazon Prime and Netflix. But, within those, the first irritation is the degree to which stuff comes and goes. The second is the often lousy quality anyway. The third, especially for Prime, is that it seems to just love deciding that since the last two or three movies (or TV Series) I watched were ... say, sci-fi, but actually, whatever it was. it's going to fill up row after row of little but sci-fi movies including some utter crud, and of course, about 50% or more that either require a subscription I don't have, or expect me to pay episode-by-episode. It does that despite me not having, ever, even once, 'bought' a streaming 'rental' like that.
Finally, and it's non-negotiable, I WILL NOT put up with adverts inside a film or series episode. It ain't happening, and no, Amazon, I'm not paying extra to turn off the ad's you bleeps just turned on. Fortunately .... I've yet to see one of those, or Prime would be cancelled by now.
My conclusion is that their "suggestions" not only aren't things i'm very likely to want, but that they're really just adverts designed to wrangle more money out of me.
Besides, I have something like 3000 DVDs. accumulated over decades, which I'm slowly working through and digitising to my own media server, and by the time I'm done, with relatively rare exceptions, if I want it I've already got it and if I don't have it, I probably don't much want it.
So why should I bother with streaming services? When there were only two or three, and stuff tended to stay put, MAYBE there was a point (for me). Maybe. But personally, I think the fragmentation is ruining the consumer experience, but not if I hold and maintain the content I want, myself.
At the risk of going off on a tangent, my natural instinct with streaming services is exacty thesameas it is with games, which is that I want physical media, not to be potentially held to ransom over accessing or playing games I "bought" that require some platform or other to run. It's (largely) why I avoided Steam until recently, and even now, only buy stuff on Steam that I want for te Steamdeck. Anything else, if it isn't on a DRM-free platform, I wait until it is, or just manage without. It's another aspect of the same mindset for why I don't much like streaming services.

This thread might be of use. I went with Emby along with Saracen, so far excellent!

Thanks Gents!
Road House.
The original, because Zak33 made me do it..

Had a few nights free to watch some films..
Poor Things - christ, I like some weird films but this just went way past being quirky.
Tremors - classic, I won't hear anything bad said about it
Expendables 2/3 - below average action films, watched because I was stuck on the couch bored
Both the original 'Roadhouse' & the remake are truly awful. And all the way through both, all I could think about was Peter Griffin & the episode of 'Family Guy'..."Roadhouse"!

I got about 20 minutes in to 'Poor Things' and gave up. And I'm a bit of a fan of Willem Dafoe.
Tremors is very silly, but enjoyable all the same. 'Classic' might be stretching it a bit imho!
Expendables...good grief, where to start? No. Just no.
I watched 'American Fiction' the other night, & actually quite enjoyed it. The older I get, the more surprised I am every time I watch a film which is actually quite good. Anyway, it's a sort of comedy...not the belly-laugh variety, but there were some moments of irony that had me chuckling. 7/10 from me.
