    War Of The Worlds(spoilers)

hi i just seen this movie and its very good but it was ruined by a crap ending.

if ud ont know what this movie is all about, well its basicly independence day type movie where the alians try to take over the world.

what sucks about this movie is only the way it ended, the aliens just past out after breathing and eating here in our world...

the machines in which the aliens use, look EXACTLY like those spider machines in HALF LIFE 2!!! the gfx and acting is superb as alwayz but the ending is the only real disapointment for me..

    i give it a healthy 7.5/10

LOL, I guess you didn't like how the titanic sunk at the end either?

I'm guessing you're quite young and never seen the orginal movie, or read the book, or heard the radio programme?

im old enough son, anywaz like i said before it was a GOOD movie, diddnt say it was crap, just diddnt like the ending, the titanic diddnt sink at the end.... u talking about the ferry? that sunk halfway through the movie and i twas cooooooolll...

the storyline is abit iffy, for example:

    how did the son survive?

whats up with the camcorder after all electrical stuff messed up and that diddnt?

whats up with the camera crew? theys aid that as soon as thsoe machines enter the area all broadcasting equipment dies... how did they get the tapes of the machines?

read what i said above man, everything except the ending was brillient...

Just sounds like they've kept the film true to the original story. i did wonder whether they were going to change the end to make it more dramatic and better for a film.

    I really enjoyed it!

Most of the way through it really gave the impression that humanity was doomed and there was no way back from the brink, bit of tension. We pretty much jumped on the video camera thing when it appeared but still - it hardly ruined the movie did it?

Good watch, definately going to have to fish out the book now and have a read at it.

I enjoyed it and the ending was good as it was the same as the original, no point changing it as everyone liked it then didn't they. Plus the film was viewd from the eyes of normal people not military commanders and marines etc which helped with the feeling of menace.

yes the film was very enjoyable, i ahvnt read any of the books so i cant compare this movie 2 the books but i've heard alot of people, not just me, that are dissapointed with the ending. the ending can be done better than the original. for example teh whole ending took like 5mins to do, should of stretched the ending a bit more for the audience who never read the books, to understand and accept the ending.. the ending was a bit short

That ends exactly the same way as the origional 1956 version, bacteria in the air kills them off.

Also if you look at artwork on the cover for the origional musical opera CD's (Jeff Wayne done the musical version) the aliens war machines were actually big tripods

    Take a look :

If you've never heard it you've really missed out, superb.

I 'm going against the grain here - I thought it stunk worse than my cat's litter tray after a week.

the ending was abrupt to say the least ( didn't it remind you of the mini advert ? )

the continunity wasn't up to much ( why was a digital camcorder working after an EMP pulse ? How would EMP damage a mechanical watch ? The ECU un the truck woudl have been faulty - the solenoid had naff all to do with it.

Tom Cruise was far too much of a pretty boy to be a New Jersey Dock worker. The only worth while character was the guy in the basement which played a credible nutter

An utter waste of £9 imo

Wel I should be off to see it on wednesday. I just hope it's better than Moby says. i remember seeing the original years back, and thinking that the ending was a bit un dramatic. I don't expect it to have changed, but I still hope it should be good.
