Entanet, or more specifically, UKFSN, have been great for me. £19.99 for 30gb peak and 300gb off-peak.

I'm with Nildram too - their Customer service is excellent and there is lots of added value.
However, they are relatively expensive (£30 for effectively a 1Mb connection). MAX kit would get me upto to approx 3Mb connection but only Tiscali & Sky Are LLUed on my exchange (http://www.samknows.com/broadband/ex...php?ecode=THGG ).

Anyone have any experience with Tiscali?
Ideally i want a static IP + IMAP mail (CBA to run my own mail server )

Just rang Nildram and got a free regrade to MAX

They're still much more expensive than Tiscali. I'll give 'em another month or two, now though.

I'm currently on Tiscali, and they're crap, I can't access most sites on peak, use p2p software or play games (xfire doesn't work as that's p2p as well as MSN which keeps logging out!)

Gonna change soon, but the million dollar question is who to?
    Woohoo now Assistant Manager!

I migrated from Orange to IDNet last December. Same price, 1 month contract, similar cap, great UK based service, nearly 50% faster connection, no blocked ports (so I can use VPN at last and 3rd party non-ISP's email server). I love Hexus but to choose an ISP in the UK I used other forums : thinkbroadband (ex-ADSLguide) and DSLZoneUK.

Been with Bethere unlimited for a while now.
The connection speeds are enough for me, 300kbps download rates when p2p'ing. It did go down once for an hour back in october and we're kind enough to even send an email shortly after, which i could only have read after being re connected.

Haven't had the need to use their Customer Services, maybe a good thing in a way, or maybe a headache to come later on!

But for now, I haven't had a problem with them whatsoever.

many companies block port 25, which is used for running a mail server.

and tiscali are rubbish, in every way!!

I'm currently with Freedom2Surf who do monthly contracts. £23.99 for 50GB monthly allowance, with unmetered between 1am-6am. Service had big problems end of last year, but have improved a lot. However, every now and then you can't connect and have to wait about 20-30 mins before it will finally connect.

Am considering Nildram whose customer service was excellent when I called them a few times to discuss moving. They also do monthly contracts. £25.99 for 50GB monthly allowance, with un-metered between 12am-8am.

Be sure to check your current usage allowance, as I always thought I'd use much more than 50GB per month, but have never used more than 15GB per month (probably 7GB-10GB on average).

With this in mind I am also considering Zen, who seem to always come top on adslguide.org.uk.

Thread from the dead I know but what are Virgin Media like? Their 8mb unlimited deal for £17.99 looks quite appetising.
