    Port forwarding through two routers

I need to open up the TCP port 39506. My computer is connected to the internet as follows.

Internet to BT Voyager 240 Modem, Connected to Belkin Wireless Pre N Router. The computer is connected by ethernet cable to the Belkin Router.

IP address of the Modem is 192.168.1.1, Router is 192.168.2.1, Computer is 192.168.2.2
If I connect the Computer directly to the modem (after changing the modem IP to 192.168.2.x) the program reports the port has been opened fine.

In both the the Modem and the Router I have set up port forwarding on 39506 to the IP address 192.168.2.2. I am confident I have done it correctly. However, the application reports that is not open. What is wrong?

ok you set the BT port to forward to your router and then set your router to forward to your PC?

    why is your modem .1.1?

Because he's ROUTING inside his LAN, a bit pointless imo, anyhow, here's what you do, log into to the Belkin router, disable NAT, set it's WAN and LAN IP to 192.168.1.2, and hey presto, no extra port forwarding mess. Although I've never used a Belkin router before, so it might not let you do it properly.

The BT Voyager is a modem-router. If you want to use it as just a modem you need to find a way to setup it up in a bridged mode. Or setup a DMZ that forwards everything to your Belkin router. Then you handle NAT on yor Belkin router.
