Re: Best Way to Prioritize gaming on Bt line?

Ok, sorry for the outburst. Im just one of these steriotypical teens who hates life

On topic, thanks for answering my question about will that provider tell me apart from outhers inside my house. Also I was completly unaware that you could have 2 phone lines to one house this should solve everything in theorey.

Am i correct in thinking that? I mean for example you could effectivley have TWO 1MB lines meaning you would have 2mb TOTAL just not though the same router.

Also if this is all true how would this atully work, i mean they couldnt both come out of the same telephone socket could they?

ok - yes you can have 2 phone going into the same house, and yes you can have 2 x 1MB lines going into your house, infact the second line may even have the possability of going faster depending on what they need to do with the cable and where your limiting factor is.

You will have 2 x 1 meg lines, but they can't be used "together" eg: 1 PC can't get a a 2 meg connection, they will always be two seperate lines.

You can use them at the same time, ie, both on togheter, but each PC can only use one of the lines at any one time (did I explain that clear enough ?)

The lines won't come out of the same socket, they will install a new second socket. in a location of your choice in the house.

Now for the bad part - your a teenager, so you won't pass the BT credit check (unless you 16 and above and your parents will sign the forms) the cost will be approx £130 initial setup fee's then your line rental and calls from then on - so not a cheap initial setup cost.
    It is Inevitable.....

Re: Best Way to Prioritize gaming on Bt line?

well thanks for your help anyway i was afraid of somthing like that, And just so you know im 17,18 in 2 weeks.

This is more hassle then its worth, and its worth a hell of a lot to me.We could be moving house within 3-24 months, if i dont move out myself before then. Theres no real solution at all .

Well at this rate looks like my 18th birthday present is going to be a phone line. Unique and incredably pathetic at the same time.

Time to find a new life goal outher then pro gaming?

lol thanks for your help anyway x(
