    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

Well, this isn't looking good. The connector for the ring wire won't let me re-connect it, and in trying to push it in the wire has now snapped. Arse.

It's connected at 5430 which is better than nothing I guess. Your link isn't actually a link mate by the way.

All I get on a page similar to that is the following.

    Code:

    	Link Information

    Uptime:	0 days, 0:07:28
    Modulation:	G.992.5 annex A
    Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:	1,118 / 5,430

    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

Argh, I'm really having a bad day here. Did a Google for the router ADSL stats and it pointed to a telnet link. I clicked it and it asked for a password. I didn't put anything in and it closed down - so I thought it obviously needed one. I've just set a password, gone to log into the router and now it won't let me log in. Buggered!

Gonna have to phone O2 now I guess.

    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

just do a factory reset. by default if you telnet and theres no pass you can login without one.

    download this tool,
    DMT Tool

it should allow you to view your detailed stats and login to your router.

btw the link is now fixed goto http://forums.hexus.net/networking-b...ml#post1324926

I can't do a factory reset if I can't log into the router though can I? Or do you mean press the little button on the back of the router?

    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

Right - I can't believe this - there's no actual button to press. The hole's there but there's nothing behind it!

Gonna have to go for a walk to calm down, then it's gonna have to be a phonecall to the support line with my tail between my legs.

Lesson of the day - if it aint broke, don't try to fix it...

    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

The button sure would reset the user/pass ....if it was there

Thats really weird. Wonder if they have removed it on purpose?
If this is your user and pass to the actual router, the support line won't really be able to help.
Are you sure you have the username correct? If there is one (try root, admin, administrator for common default ones)

    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

theres a button! it's quite deep. yours should include one. I used a pen with a long tip to press mine. I held it for about 20 or 15 secs till all lights are on and it makes a click, then letting go after that will reset it.

    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

Right - bit more luck this time.

There isn't a button as such, you don't feel anything push in or out, but it did work. All the lights went out and it restarted, I can now access the router.

I've fired up DMT and it's asking for a login and password. I've tried administrator and blank, and that doesn't work - says wrong username or password.

Is there a password needed to access the router page? ie 192.168.1.254?

    Re: Anyone with O2 Broadband?

    Not any more.

Google tells me that DMT doesn't work with this firmware and you have to get stats from telnet. So, I've telneted in - you can't use the default passwords, you have to use "SuperUser" and "O2Br0ad64nd" to get in. I'm now presented with a screen and a menu. I'll get a screengrab - not sure where to go now!
