    Re: Which ISP please guys

If you are looking around at ADSL, do NOT be tempted by the cheap deals from talktalk. Yes, you will get internet, but it can be painfully slow. I'm struggling with talktalk at the moment at my parent's house -- some of my friends went with talktalk and have had issues with disconnections etc etc. Save yourself the pain and go with someone else (even if it means a few more pennies a month).

Can also recommend Plus.net (had no experience with ADSL24, though I've heard from many people that they are very good), however they might be a little too expensive for what you are after.

    Try Virgin Media!!!

I am currently have TV-M, Broadband-M (2MB), and Phone-XL (Free landline 24/7 and included international call package) for just £20 a month FOR LIFE!!!

Call the sales up and tell them that your friend xxx has this package for £20 and you want the same. Remember you are having the deal 2 for £20, here the TV (M) comes free with any Telephone package (as advertised on their website), so you only pay for Broadband and the Phone.

    Goodluck!!!

Hi try samknows.com and do an exchange search to see what LLU's are available in your area.

Then look at dslzone or thinkbroadband for reviews etc..

If you can't get llu (see samknows.co.uk), consider http://www.ukfsn.org/ It's practically the same as adsl24 (Both resell connections via entanet) and the profits go to fund free software.

    Re: Which ISP please guys

I switched from virgin media to adsl24 a year ago, and what a difference that has made. customer support is excellent. I don't have to hold the phone for hours to get technical support anymore, my queries get dealt with right away. I don't have to deal with technical support who don't know the difference between static and dynamic IPs.
You will not be disappointed with adsl24.

And also with adsl24 "All plans are based on a 1 month contract - so you can cancel at any time with no charge."

They seem to have very similar deals - which I assume is passed on from BT wholesale.

I'm with UKFSN for Entanet. I'd say ADSL24 and UKFSN are good entanet resellers. You can also get help from them over on the thinkbroadband forums, where they seem to hang out quite a bit.

    Re: Which ISP please guys

I guess there isn't one best ISP out there, if it helps I'd avoid the so called "free" ones, every tom dick and 'arry will be on it, (no offence intended to any one called those names). Another place to look is www.thinkbroadband.com/isps.html for a decent ISP.
As for telephone included package, I'm skeptical about being locked into a single provider. I'm still with BT for phone calls which means I can change ISP easily, calls are free eve and weekends with the right CPS (carrier pre select) provider. Daytime calls are free (5p connect) to land lines with a dial prefix. Checkout www.moneysavingexpert.com for the names of these providers. Good luck.

    Re: Which ISP please guys

Be Internet have a great reputation and their connection is very fast.

I'm with Virgin media and although it is fast when it is on, they cap your speed if you download too much. I sometimes have to download a lot, and for example, I got in the beta for a game recently and it was a 7 gig download... Needless to say more than half of it I downloaded at snail speed. I usually leave things going over night and then it's not much of a problem, but it does annoy me. I bought C&C:TW with the download option and it starting coming really fast and then I hit the cap and it goes so slow I may as well not have bought it online.
