you can get a visa electron from Barclays when you're 12 with a parent there to sign stuff, and take 2 pieces of identity, i had to take my passport and a letter with my address and name on.
If the problem is that you have no more network ports, would something as simple as a switch do the job? Additionally, if wireless isn't an option, would something like HomePlug suit to share the existing internet connection?
As an aside, I'm 21 and still have a Solo card (long story) but manage to use it for everything (both online stores and bricks 'n' mortar) just fine! :-)
My solo card shows a Solo symbol and a Meastro symbol.
If I want to use my card it only needs to be compat with one of the two present.. eg.. shops that wont take Solo but take meastro I can still use.
As matty-hodgeson said.. you just need a parent to take you into the bank, along with some ID.

Having just run upstairs to find my card:
Solo in top right of front, Maestro on bottom left of back? Says cashcard top left of front though, so surely is not a debit card?
This buisness is complicated
And getting dad to take me into the bank, along with ID, is probably harder than it sounds as well... although it's worth a shot. Presuming I ask nicely enough, and have enough research done beforehand.
Because no one can spell it right?why does my name get mis-spelt all the time?
I guess we're expected to do quite wellOriginally Posted by Fortune117

Just thought of something:
As a 15 year old, is it actually legal for me to own an internet connection or would my dad be responsible for it, as the adult of the household?
Who has liability for what I do on the connection?
Surely, as age of criminal responsibility is 10 (according to wiki) then it's me? But majority doesn't come for another few years, so it's all confuddled. Stupid government
Me? I'm squeaky clean.... gaming>porn atm.
Mostly because I do a theaterics company, where everyone around my age (about 10-12 of them) are female. So I get to see lots of people stripping off. Nowt special after you've seen it lots of times. Maybe hormones will kick in at some point in the future, who knows?
He's covering himself against pointless probabilities....
Firstly - like I said, I don't have any intention or wish to go staring at naked women
Secondly - you know how much bandwith that uses up
Would cost a fortune...
come on, just use your card

Have a quick look at this link: http://www.gillhams.com/dictionary/444.cfm
You can potentially enter into the contract but would need your parents consent to do such. Without consent a contract may be able to be enforced on you as it could be determined to be for educational purposes to your benefit and that you were of an age that you understood the contract you were entering into.
Remember that if you fail to pay then this will be linked to anyone living in your house and could adversely affect your future ability to gain credit.
Also from the sounds of things the cost of ownership would have to include a second phone line to the property, so installation cost of upto £125 for a BT line (not sure on how they do it with cable), line rental of approx £11.50 per month and then your choice of ISP to provide the internet service if they will allow your payment method and your age.

Mobile Broadband doesn't require another phone line, as far as I can see. Is just plug in and go, as you are connecting to the mobile network not the phone network. May vary from ISP to ISP I suppose. Some of them require you to have phones with them, but they clearly say so in their T&C.
Ability to pay is not a problem.... especially as quite a few of these under-18 contacts are prepaid and not PAGO/Monthly Cost. I can only use what I pay for, although I can't seem to find anything on what happens after I go over the limit of prepaid connections. I presume it just cuts out...
Under what conditions would I be able to enter into it without consent?
What is 'of an age that I understand the contract I was entering into'? Is this physical age or mentla maturity? Does this vary from person to person or simply mean that I have to be 18 to legally understand the contract that I am entering into?
As for educational purposes - definition of this? Does this mean it has to be used exclusively for educational purposes OR will be used for educational purposes AND recreational usage?
As helpful as your post was, it also adds in some more questions that make my head hurt.
Sorry for the late response. Was elsewhere for a few days.
