    Cant find wireless network

    I recently got a new Netbook (Medion E1210) and the first thing I did was do a fresh Windows install to get get rid of all the rubbish that comes preinstalled.
    Everything works fine except for the wireless. I installed the driver software from the Medion site and device manager is reporting that it has installed and is working properly. However, when I scan for networks nothing is found. My router is using 11 g&b (netgear dg834gt). I can get on the internet using a cable as opposed to the wireless. I didnt use the wireless before I formatted it so I cant say for sure that its not a faulty card.
    I noticed the wireless built in to the netbook is compatible with a new format called "draft n" as well as 11 g/b but I cant see any way of checking which standard it is using to recieve currently.
    My other lappy is able to recieve wireless so it cant be the router.

    Any tips?

    Thanks

    Re: Cant find wireless network

    I had a similar issue only yesterday on a friend's PC.

    If you're using XP SP2 then you'll need this update;

    Re: Cant find wireless network

    Glad you got it sorted, I lost my wireless on my Advent 4211 after a Bios update even tho Windows said it was enabled. I had to turn it off with the fn key and back on again a few times and now it works fine.

    Re: Cant find wireless network

    Nice to see that you had the sense to format it and start again from scratch though, the sheer amount of rubbish that gets pre-installed beggars belief sometimes - Mum and Dad bought themselves a cheap Acer a couple of years back, Vista home, and about 3 gigs of crap pre-installed meant that it could hardly boot when new, let alone after a few months of use..

    Formatted it and put xp sp2 on, and it was like a completely different machine - much better!

    Anyway, well done on having the sense to trash it and start again!

    I cant get into PMs anyway, whenever I click on my user account all I ever get is this for some reason-
