Hi, got a couple of powerline networking adapters from amazon, but alas they came from germany and have euro 2 pins. If i get an adapter to convert to uk 3 pins does anybody know if it will affect performance in any meaningful way?

The UK and EU have the same standards for AC power, so I don't see any reason why the network adapters should work differently...
Only thing I can think of is a cheap pass-through adapter might interfere with the connection a bit, but it should be fine.
i lived in germany for 3 years, so a lot of stuff had 2 pins on. still worked off uk socket, only thing is that the pins may flex a little. but thatsjust my stuff - i accept no liability if tried and any damage occurs.
The mains wiring in German houses is not exactly the same as UK, as they rely on an RCD for every socket, rather than having fuses in plugs as we do. In a German home the 'fuse box' has vastly more RCDs, unlike the UK where an RCD protects a ring or sub-ring circuit. But this works in your favour as you are going from a more to a less complex setup.
Had dropout issues all weekend. Once or twice the p660 homeplug led would be off, reset router and its ok, but both powerline adapters would drop conn though the p660 led is still on (which it should be as it's got an integrated powerline adapter).
So they work sometimes not much use for an mmo gamer.
The house is reasonably new, detached, so electric *shouldn't* be a problem. I was hoping it was just the fact that they were german adapters and there were some issues relating to them, but it sounds like it shouldn't be from what you're saying.
Incidentally, I did wonder whether the euro to uk socket adapter might be interfering, but when it drops it drops, wiggling it won't work, though if i switch it off and on again a while later it sometimes picks it back up. Other times, even moving it to different sockets around the house won't get it to relight the powerline led.

Update:
Got a set of pla401 v3 UK plugs. Still got problem. It's on for about 10-20 minutes, then the homeplug led goes off, network led stays on though.
in the other room the p660 homeplug led stays on, suggesting it's built in homeplug is still functioning.
As before, i leave the thing plugged in after the led goes out and it doesn't seem to 'reconnect' like it ought to if it was just a spike in the power.. I reset the p660 and it appears to have come back on.
Could this, a long shot I know, be anything to do with my windows/kaspersky settings relating to networking connections, like 'if network conn idle, do some soft power down on that connection'?
It's odd that it feels like a similar amount of time, from a bootup with a successful homeplug connection that it drops and won't go back on no matter what plug socket I put it in.
If i leave it overnight or for a good while, it seems to find the homeplug network. Also, the reset button doesn't help. Even when it refinds the network, it'll just go off again after 10-20 minutes.
The house is not an old one, or one that's had a lot of work done to it.

If you live in the UK and bought from Amazon.co.uk or a UK based Amazon Marketplace store they have to come with UK plugs, by law. I had a similar argument with Dell who sold me 10+ monitors with EU kettle leads.
Send them back.
